DENVER, COLORADO: On Monday, July 1, Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) expressed her reaction immediately following the conservative-controlled United States Supreme Court granting former President Donald Trump an exceptional level of immunity from criminal prosecution.

Legal experts asserted that the 6-3 ruling could allow US presidents to partake in criminal activity under the guise of official presidential actions, extending to the current president and future presidents, according to RawStory.

Rep Boebert suggested that the Monday ruling poses a setback for President Joe Biden, prompting several individuals on X to delve deeper into the landmark SCOTUS decision and point out her oversight on the matter.

What did Lauren Boebert say regarding Supreme Court ruling favoring former POTUS?

The MAGA-aligned congresswoman tweeted, “The Supreme Court isn’t “protecting Trump”. SCOTUS is simply ensuring the ruthless Biden admin follows the RULE OF LAW!”

The United States Supreme Court referred the federal case concerning former President Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election back to a lower court.

The lower court will now be responsible for determining whether the 78-year-old MAGA strongman's actions qualify for immunity protection.

The 2024 presumptive Republican presidential nominee and his legal team have consistently contended that he should be shielded from criminal prosecution for his actions during his White House tenure.

The Supreme Court's historic decision established that the former president holds broad immunity for his official acts during his presidency.

According to The Hill, Chief Justice John Roberts stated in his majority opinion, “At least with respect to the president’s exercise of his core constitutional powers, this immunity must be absolute."

"As for his remaining official actions, he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity" read the statement which later noted that there is “no immunity for unofficial acts.”
