WASHINGTON, DC: The June 27 disastrous debate performance of President Joe Biden against Donald Trump panicked his party members, and now many wealthy donors, including Disney heiress, are reportedly planning not to support him monetarily.

Speaking with CNBC on Thursday, July 4, Abigail Disney, the granddaughter to Roy O Disney, who co-founded The Walt Disney Company, said, “I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket.  This is realism, not disrespect.”

Abigail Disney says ‘stakes are far too high’ if Biden runs for White House

The 64-year-old philanthropist explained, “Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high. If Biden does not step down the Democrats will lose. Of that, I am absolutely certain.”

“The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire,” she asserted.

Disney also reportedly suggested Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee.

She shared, “We have an excellent Vice President. If Democrats would tolerate any of her perceived shortcomings even one-tenth as much as they have tolerated Biden’s (and let’s not kid ourselves about where race and gender figure in that inequity) and if Democrats can find a way to stop quibbling and rally around her, we can win this election by a lot.”

Gideon Stein plans to put a break on donation

Besides Disney, Gideon Stein, the president of the Moriah Fund, is also thinking of stopping donations of $3.5 million.

He argued, “Joe Biden has been a very effective president, but unless he steps aside my family and I are pausing on more than $3 million in planned donations to nonprofits and political organizations aligned with the presidential race, with the exception of some down ballot work.”

“Virtually every major donor I’ve talked to believes that we need a new candidate in order to defeat Donald Trump,” Stein added.

Internet reactions

Meanwhile, people online have blasted the President as a reader below The New York Post article wrote, “Why do people keep saying Biden is a ‘good’ man? Anyone who has followed his career is clearly aware that is not the case.”

Another reader shared, “Republicans should donate to keep him going and then cut him off when it’s too late.”

A third one stated, “Money walks because Joey can’t talk…Nuf’ said.”

A fourth one sarcastically remarked, “Why are the Dems so concerned about this? Obama has been running the country last 4 years and can continue to do so with sleepy, demented Biden.”

“Pitiful. Dems put two incompetent nut jobs Biden and Harris in office to run this country to the gutter. Trump can’t come quick enough!” a fifth one added.
