WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk stirred up a storm online after he accused former President Bill Clinton of what he called a ‘heinous crime.’

Musk didn’t hold back; he went on X and criticized Clinton over the 1993 US military mission in Somalia and his immigration policies.

Posts tied to DOGE messaging picked up Musk’s comments, and people across the political spectrum jumped in.

Elon Musk’s posts target Bill Clinton and Somalia policy

In a recent widely circulated post, Musk wrote, “Clinton committed a heinous crime against the American people.”

Musk followed up with another post, adding more to his claim.

“Also, they killed American soldiers in Somalia and did unspeakable things to their corpses. Blackhawk Down is the tame, movie version of what happened,” said Musk.

This time, he brought up the aftermath of the Battle of Mogadishu, what most people know as Black Hawk Down. That was back in 1993, during Clinton’s time in office, when 18 American soldiers died.

Musk didn’t show any proof that Clinton personally ordered or managed a wave of Somali immigration after the battle.

He also didn’t offer any data connecting Somali immigrants to crime in general. Still, his posts resonated with conservatives and individuals who push back against US immigration policy.

DOGE slams Clinton over ‘importing’ Somalians

The DOGE continued on the same line of Musk’s rant on Clinton and his role during Black Hawk Down and wrote, “And what did Bill Clinton do after Black Hawk Down? Why, of course, he imported hundreds of thousands of Somalians into the interior of the United States.”

Connecting to the recent Minnesota welfare fraud, the post talked about the Somali community and its issues.

“The very people who have now been exposed for defrauding and defiling Minnesota, Ohio, and so many once-great American communities,” the post continued.

Musk also added that the well-known 2001 film ‘Black Hawk Down’ portrayed a sanitized version of the events.

Observers and analysts have called the Battle of Mogadishu a real turning point for US foreign policy.

After what happened, America pulled out of Somalia and became a lot more hesitant about jumping into humanitarian military missions.

Lately, Musk has been jumping into hot debates about immigration, crime, and US foreign policy.  He’s gotten a lot louder with his political takes, specifically on the Minnesota fraud.

On X, he often calls out Democratic leaders, legacy media, and what he sees as big failures in the system.
