WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk is turning up the heat in his feud with Donald Trump, now calling for the full release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

The Tesla CEO reignited the controversy as tensions escalated over Trump’s much-touted “Big, Beautiful Bill.”

This isn’t Musk’s first swipe, back in early June, he claimed that Trump’s name appears in the unreleased Epstein files, suggesting that’s why the Justice Department has kept them under wraps. Though he later deleted the post, the bold allegation has fueled speculation online.

Elon Musk demands unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files

In the latest development in the ongoing feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, Musk has called for the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

On July 3 morning, just hours before the House was set to vote on Trump’s proposed spending bill, Musk responded with a simple “yes” to a tweet from conservative activist Scott Presler, who urged the release of the “unredacted Epstein files.”

Roughly 40 minutes earlier, Musk had taken to X to criticize Trump’s bill, reiterating his opposition. “I have been super clear that we should not pass this bill. We should hit the debt ceiling and live within our means, just as we do as individuals,” Musk wrote. “Instead, there is massive de facto taxation via inflation.”

Donald Trump criticizes Elon Musk over his reaction to proposed EV tax credit cuts

On July 1, Donald Trump criticized Elon Musk over his reaction to proposed cuts to electric vehicle (EV) tax credits in a new spending bill.

He wrote on Truth Social, “Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one.”

Trump went on to claim, “Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more rocket launches, no more satellites, no more electric vehicles, and the US would save a fortune. Maybe it’s time for DOGE to take a serious look at this. There’s a lot of money to be saved!”

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Elon Musk publicly claimed on his platform X that Donald Trump’s name appears in the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files.

He posted, “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT! Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

As the public feud between Musk and Trump unfolded on X, Musk deleted several posts by Saturday morning, June 7. Among the removed posts was the one accusing Trump of withholding the Epstein files because his name is on the list. He also deleted a post in which he responded “yes” to a message stating, “Trump should be impeached,” and that JD Vance should “replace him.”

Musk did not provide any evidence to support his accusations or explain why he deleted the posts.

After Elon Musk publicly claimed that President Trump’s name appeared in the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files, Trump appeared visibly irritated by the accusation.

According to a report from POLITICO, an official commented, “He’s stopped posting, but that doesn’t mean he’s happy,” referring to Trump’s silence amid the escalating feud with Musk.

“The future of their relationship is totally uncertain,” the official added. While Musk suggested that Trump should be impeached, and Trump reportedly considered cutting all federal contracts with Musk’s companies, representatives from both sides indicated that neither ultimately wanted to take such drastic steps.

Internet sparks debate after Elon Musk calls for 'unredacted' Jeffrey Epstein files

After Elon Musk agreed with a tweet calling for the release of the unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files, several internet users quickly echoed the Tesla CEO’s demand for full, uncensored disclosure. One user wrote, “Absolutely, it shouldn’t be an issue if there is nothing to hide.”

An X user declared, “Yes… Release the Epstein files…!!!”

Another expressed anticipation, simply writing, “Waiting.”

One commenter said, “Elon, you are holding the microphone for people. Thank you! Keep fighting!”

A supporter of Trump challenged Musk, asking, “Why did you stop talking about the bill? Did you feel threatened by Trump?”

One user responded critically, “I hope the bill can be passed as soon as possible. You, this sarcastic person, will be completely defeated!”

Another took aim at Musk’s political involvement, writing, “Elon, stay out of politics. You are the Newton of our generation, just stay out of it.”
