WASHINGTON, DC: Looks like Elon Musk is having second thoughts.

After feuding with President Donald Trump on social media last week, the Tesla CEO now appears to be doing a humble U-turn.

Elon Musk 'regrets' some social media posts he made about Donald Trump

"I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far," Elon Musk admitted on his platform X on Wednesday, June 11.

He didn’t spell out which specific posts he was referring to, but Tesla shares in Frankfurt nudged up 2.44% following his sudden change in tone, the Daily Mail reported.

Donald Trump's fallout with Elon Musk

It all began when Elon Musk blasted Donald Trump’s tax and spending bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination.” That didn’t sit well with Trump, who said their relationship was officially over and even floated yanking government funding from SpaceX.

But Musk wasn’t backing down just yet. In a now-deleted post, he dragged Jeffrey Epstein into the drama, insinuating that Trump’s name popped up in documents linked to the convicted sex offender.

Trump clapped back hard. He told ABC News that Musk had “lost his mind,” and showed zero interest in mending fences anytime soon. The bad blood hit a new low when Musk supported impeaching the president in a now-deleted post.

Insiders, though, say the storm might be passing. Sources close to Musk claim he’s starting to cool down and could be looking to patch things up with Trump behind the scenes.

The tension reached a boiling point after Trump warned Musk not to go after Republicans who supported the spending bill. Some lawmakers against the legislation had even urged Musk to fund primary challengers to oust those Republicans.

Trump didn’t take that lightly. He told NBC News, “He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that."

Trump, who also called Musk “disrespectful,” seemed ready to hit back in other ways, too. Rumors swirled that the US President was considering offloading the Tesla he’d purchased earlier this year.

When asked about it on Monday, Trump downplayed the claim. “I haven’t heard that, I mean, I may move the Tesla around a little bit,” he said.

Errol Musk tries to play peacemaker

Elon Musk’s dad, Errol Musk, thinks it’s all gotten out of hand.

"They've had five months of intense stress," he told Reuters at a conference in Moscow. "With all the opposition cleared and two people left in the arena, all they have ever done is get rid of everything, and now they are trying to get rid of each other. Well, that has to stop."

When asked if Elon had made a mistake picking a fight with Trump, the elder Musk said people are sometimes unable to think as clearly as they should "in the heat of the moment."

“Elon is sticking to his principles, but you cannot always stick to your principles in the real world,” he insisted. “Sometimes you have to give and take.”

But Errol is optimistic about how the feud might end. “Oh, it will end on a good note – very soon," he said.

Trump does seem to be softening—at least in public. Despite all the back-and-forth, the President has held back on fresh attacks lately and even offered a few kind words.

During a Monday press chat, Trump was asked about a New York Times report claiming Musk was so deep into ketamine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms during his campaign work that it was impacting his bladder.

Trump responded, “I really don’t know, I don’t think so, I hope not.” He added, “I wish him well ... I just wish him well, very well, actually.”

That’s not all. The POTUS also said he would keep Musk’s Starlink system in place, despite all the tension.
