WASHINGTON, DC: The bromance between Elon Musk and Donald Trump has now turned into a messy breakup that is grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Musk is now suggesting that Trump might’ve been replaced by a body double.

It all started when Musk took a wrecking ball to Trump’s prized “Big Beautiful Bill,” publicly dragging the president all over X (formerly Twitter).

“Where is the man who wrote these words?” Elon wrote, reposting a highlight reel of his past praise for Trump’s policies. “Was he replaced by a body double?” he asked.

It’s a wild theory that sounds like it was ripped straight from a Reddit thread, but the whole body double surmise isn’t new in politics either. Former president Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin have both been the target of similar rumors for years.

There was also the bizarre theory that Melania Trump had a stunt double, after she wore oversized sunglasses indoors while voting beside her husband in West Palm Beach, Florida. Conspiracy theorists were convinced it wasn’t her, the Daily Mail reported.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump's big, ugly feud

Elon Musk’s beef with Donald Trump really boiled over when he took to X and torched the POTUS' beloved legislation. He didn’t just say he didn’t like the bill; he accused Trump of hypocrisy, reminding his followers that the president once opposed raising federal spending. “Where is this guy today??” Musk asked in one particularly biting post.

Trump clapped back on Truth Social. “Elon was 'wearing thin,' I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!” he wrote.

Trump subsequently threatened to strip Musk’s companies of their federal grants and subsidies. “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts,” he wrote, adding, “I was always surprised that Biden didn't do it!”

But Elon dared him to go through with it. “This just gets better and better,” he wrote. “Go ahead, make my day.”

Elon Musk drops Epstein bombshell while hitting back at Donald Trump

Just when you thought it couldn’t get messier, Elon Musk escalated things big time. The tech mogul claimed without evidence that Trump is in the Jeffrey Epstein files. “Time to drop a really big bomb,” he teased. “@RealDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Trump didn’t directly respond to the allegation, but appeared to brush it off instead. “I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago,” he wrote on Truth Social. “This is one of the greatest bills ever presented to Congress.”

But Musk wasn’t finished throwing punches. He even endorsed the idea that Trump should be impeached and replaced by Vice President JD Vance.

Political commentator Ian Miles Cheong posted, “President vs Elon. Who wins? My money’s on Elon. Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him,” to which Musk simply replied, “Yes.”

In a separate post, he added, “The Trump tariffs will cause a recession in the second half of this year.”
