WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk has taken a U-turn again in his ongoing political feud with Donald Trump. He threw a curveball by showering the president with praise for his diplomacy, just a day after issuing a stark warning over a controversial spending bill.

The billionaire CEO took to X on Wednesday, July 2, to applaud the president’s international dealings. The back-and-forth comes amid growing political tension, with Musk criticizing Republicans as the “Porky Pig Party” and floating the idea of launching his own “America Party.” In response, Trump threatened to deport Musk.

Elon Musk gave credit to President Donald Trump for successfully resolving “serious conflicts” around the globe.

Posting on X, Musk emphasized that Trump deserves recognition for his diplomatic efforts, "Credit where credit is due @realDonaldTrump has successfully resolved several serious conflicts around the world."

He shared an image of Trump’s own announcement about a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Gaza.

In his Tuesday evening post, Trump highlighted, "My Representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War."

He continued, "The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.”"

As Elon Musk appeared to shift back to supporting Trump following their public spat over a spending bill, many users reacted with surprise to the tech billionaire’s unexpected praise for the president.

One user asked, "Ahh, so you backed down huh? It was expected."

A person advised, "It’s not working. You are either against Trump or you love his work. Trying to be “objective” on different issues doesn’t look good on you. Pick a side and stay with it."

One user mocked Musk’s praise for Trump by pointing out the irony, referencing past remarks where the president reportedly considered deporting him, "Elon trying not to get deported."

An X user suggested, "Glad you took that breather. Just imagine what you can accomplish by continuing as a team. It's okay to disagree, just talk it through privately with a call. He opened his home to you, so I'm sure he'll be open to the conversation."

A user joked, "lol really!? Just because he threatened you that you’ll have to go back to South Africa, now you are giving him credit?😂🤣"

A confused user shared, "People say that its difficult to understand women. But its impossible to understand Elon. 😂"

One individual on X warned Musk writing, "I'm glad you're acknowledging and giving Donald the respect he deserves. You should stop your conflict with our president and resolve it, or I'll be forced to not renew my blue tick, which would significantly impact your financial strength. Respect the POTUS."

While Elon Musk recently praised Donald Trump’s foreign policy efforts, he has also emerged as one of the most outspoken critics of Trump’s flagship spending legislation, the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Musk didn’t hold back, calling the bill “utterly insane” and “political suicide,” while accusing Republicans of pushing through a measure that raises the debt ceiling by an unprecedented five trillion dollars.

In a fiery post on Monday, June 30 Musk wrote, “It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill... that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!” He went on to propose the creation of a new political movement: “Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people.”

Trump didn’t take the criticism lightly. When asked about Musk’s citizenship status during a press briefing on Tuesday, July 1 the president suggested he might consider deporting the billionaire, who was born in South Africa but became a US citizen in 2002. “We’ll have to take a look,” Trump remarked.

He also took a jab at Musk’s connection to DOGE—the Department of Government Efficiency, a cost cutting agency Musk briefly led—saying, “You know what DOGE is? The monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn’t that be terrible? He gets a lot of subsidies.”

Following Trump's comment Musk wrote on July 2, issuing a warning about Trump's bill, "Removal of funding for enforcement of federal contempt of court orders is the actual crux of this spending bill. This is nominally aimed at removal of illegal immigrants, but obviously also enables many other abuses of power by the President."
