WASHINGTON, DC: The Republican supporter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk took a swipe at the media for defending President Joe Biden's cognitive abilities and calling Vice President Kamala Harris "the best thing ever."

The calls for Biden to drop out of the race grew post-debate; however, the president remained adamant to continue despite criticism, until finally deciding to do so on Sunday.

Joe Biden said he'd win 2024 presidential race on the day he announced his exit

For a while, Joe Biden demonstrated an unyielding dedication to the reelection campaign; both Biden and some of his Democratic colleagues defended his cognitive and mental sharpness.

It was unexpected when Biden announced his withdrawal. On the day the president referred to it as "the most important election of our lifetimes," on X (formerly Twitter).

Biden posted a video of Donald Trump declaring, "This will be the most important election in the history of our country," and continued, "And I will win it."

Shortly afterward, Biden declared in a letter published on X that he was leaving in the interest of the "party and the country."

For the duration of his term, Biden stated, he would only concentrate on "fulfilling my duties as president."

Elon Musk slams Democrats for making Joe Biden resign

Elon Musk made fun of the media for amplifying the claims that Joe Biden was physically qualified to seek a second term in office.

"About 3 weeks ago, the media told you that Biden was “sharp as a tack” 2 days ago, the poor guy was basically forced at gunpoint to resign as Dem nominee," Musk posted on X.

The X owner mocked the claim that Biden's staff was kept in the dark and that the media was now saying Harris was the best, taking amid at her suggesting it will also prove to be false.

"His staff weren’t even informed. Now they say Kamala is the best thing ever," Musk added.

He also posted over a six-minute-long video. It showed Democratic allies, his colleagues, or anchors say on media channels that Biden was "sharp" while also spotlighting the president's debate slip-ups.

Joe Biden's 'sharp as a tack' remark isn't new

On April 22, before the presidential debate and age-related concerns which grew in strength afterward, Michael Douglas said that 81-year-old Joe Biden was "sharp as a tack."

“We all have an issue with memories as we get older. We forget names,” Douglas, 79 said on CNN, according to The Hill.

"He’s overcome a stutter in his life. But let’s just say that his entire cabinet, including his vice president, everybody in his cabinet would be more than happy to work with him again in the next term," Douglas said during the interview.
