WASHINGTON, DC: White Dudes for Harris campaign group's official X account was suspended on Monday, July 29, minutes after it raised $4 million for Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential bid in its debut fundraising event.

Notably, Democratic officials including Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Minnesota Gov Tim Walz, and Illinois Gov JB Pritzker were part of the fundraising event that was geared towards White men supporting VP Kamala Harris, as per AP.

Organizer Ross Morales Rocketto shared a screenshot of the suspended account, which had 13,000 followers, and wrote on X, "Got Elon Musk scared." A backup account for the organization was launched on Monday. The account, however, was restored after a few hours. The reason for the suspension is  not known.

While responding to the queries, they wrote, "@dudes4harris was Ross’ original account that for some reason was suspended."

During the fundraising event, the star-studded Zoom call attracted more than 180,000 participants. The organizers claimed they sold more than 5,700 White Dudes for Harris trucker caps.

Gov Walz, who has been making the rounds on TV lately and has gone to the top of progressives' favorite White man's lists, expressed his excitement at the prospect of Harris defeating former President Donald Trump, according to NBC News.

He said, "Make that b****d wake up afterward and know that a Black woman kicked his a** and sent him on the road and you know that’s something that guy’s going to have to live with the rest of his life."

Although the White Dudes for Harris account on X was blocked for unknown reasons, many people expressed their disapproval of the social media platform's involvement in elections on Monday, especially since Elon Musk, the account's owner, has been a strong advocate of Donald Trump's reelection, according to The Wrap.

Internet divided as White Dudes for Harris campaign group X account gets suspended

People on the internet remained divided and had mixed reactions as the White Dudes for Harris campaign group's official X account was suspended after it raised $4 million for Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential bid.

Some online comments read "Most of what Musk and Trump say is some combination of either being untrue, a fraud, a lie, offensive, etc" and "More of that free speech Elon said he would bring to X. Seems odd that he has been calling out Google for bias."

A person also stated, "Why does anyone with an IQ over 90 still use X?" whereas one mentioned, "As with any mainstream news story that they want to use to get views, there is probably a good reason why the account was banned."

A user also wrote, "Class action lawsuit immediately", while another said, "I'm actually excited for a Kamala presidency. I just want to be able to say "I told you so" when it turns out as bad as it always has been with her."

A person commented, "So what's the real reason they were suspended? I'll reserve judgment until the truth comes out", whereas one mentioned, "The Christian conservative people are scare. They should be afraid. Very afraid. Coming this November Madam President Kamala Harris is coming for them. No matter what they do."
