LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Singer Elton John believes he knows how President Donald Trump could earn a spot in history as one of the “greatest presidents in history.” John said that if Trump “shows how he manages to end AIDS, that would earn him ‘a feather in his cap.’”

It’s worth noting that Trump launched a national initiative during his first term aimed at ending the HIV epidemic in the country by 2030.

Elton John says Trump could secure historic legacy by ending AIDS

While discussing his long-standing mission to stop the spread of AIDS with Variety, Elton John reflected on how President Donald Trump could reshape his legacy. The British singer said the commander-in-chief could become “one of the greatest presidents in history” if he “ended AIDS.”

John added that Trump’s attention might shift to the AIDS crisis after the latest push for a peace plan in the Israel-Gaza conflict. “There’s a big war that’s being settled, hopefully,” John told the magazine, expressing frustration that countries in Africa, Russia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe are not doing enough to end the AIDS epidemic.

“But there’s another war with people who are suffering from HIV and AIDS that should be able to get their medicine but can’t, because governments won’t let them. It’s inhumane.” He continued, “My big beef at the moment is, yes, thank God, maybe there’s peace, after more things are sorted out."

"But there are crimes against millions of other people that are happening because of governments and stigma and hate," he added. “It’s so frustrating when you have the medicine, you have PrEP, you have the antiretrovirals. We can stop the spread of AIDS if people just got off their backsides and treated human beings in a Christian kind of way,” he said.

“I’ve had the most incredible life, and there is hope,” John said. “I’ve just gotta be patient that someday science will help me with this one. Once they help me with this one, I’ll be fine.”

“It’s exactly like the AIDS situation. You mustn’t give up hope, you must be stoic, you must be strong and you must always try and batter the door down to try and improve things,” he added.

Elton John urges bipartisan push after Trump cuts PEPFAR funding

During Donald Trump’s second term, funding for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), which has saved around 26 million lives globally since 2003, was cut.

“The bipartisan thing makes common sense,” the singer said, highlighting the need for cooperation to combat the disease, as per The New York Post.

Although Elton John made the comment, Trump has not yet responded. It will be interesting to see his reaction on Truth Social.
