Susie Wiles reveals she is cancer free, thanks Trump for 'unwavering support'

WASHINGTON, DC: White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, on Wednesday, September 16, shared a personal health update after months of continuing her work while undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

In a message posted on X, Wiles said the latest results from a medical appointment brought news she had been hoping for.

She also thanked her family, doctors, and supporters, while reserving special praise for President Donald Trump.

“Some personal news I’m grateful to share,” Wiles wrote on X after visiting the Mayo Clinic this week. “My pathology results came back clear. I am cancer free.”

Wiles thanked the people who supported her during her illness, including relatives, friends, doctors, and those who prayed for her or checked in on her.

She also gave Trump a special mention.

“A special thank you to President Trump for his unwavering support,” Wiles wrote. “I am deeply grateful and will continue to work to advance his America First Agenda.”

The update marks a significant development since Wiles disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis in March.

Despite the diagnosis, she remained in her role at the White House and continued working during treatment.

Trump praised Susie Wiles' strength

Wiles chose to remain at the center of the administration after revealing her diagnosis, saying she would continue carrying out her duties while receiving treatment.

Her announcement also highlighted how widely breast cancer affects women across the country, noting that roughly one in eight US women will receive such a diagnosis.

Trump backed her decision to stay in the job, saying she would continue serving as chief of staff and expressing confidence in the medical care she was receiving.

He characterized what she was going through as a “minor difficulty” and repeatedly spoke positively about her prognosis.

At a March Kennedy Center appearance, Trump said Wiles was an “amazing person” and “an amazing fighter,” adding that her condition would be “in good shape” and describing the prognosis as “excellent, beyond excellent.”

Wiles’ position carries historic significance. She is the first woman to become White House chief of staff. 

Before taking the post, she built a long career in Florida Republican politics and became one of Trump’s most trusted campaign advisers.

She co-chaired his 2024 presidential campaign and had also worked on his 2016 campaign.
