NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: As part of his administration's efforts on Women's History Month (WHM) 2024, President Joe Biden signed an executive order on Wednesday, March 27, to recognize and celebrate women's history by increasing their representation in national parks and other important sites across the United States.

Celebrated in March every year, according to the Library of Congress WHM is when they join the "National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history."

"Women’s history is vastly underrepresented in our National Park System, creating an important opportunity to strengthen our Nation’s recognition of the role of women in shaping this country," read the text of the order, which was released by the White House.

"This order directs actions that will strengthen the Federal Government’s recognition of women’s history and the achievements of women and girls from all backgrounds," it continued, adding, "By honoring the women leaders of the past, we tell a more complete story of America and help build a more equal and equitable present and future."

The incumbent took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share the news, writing, "Today I signed an Executive Order to increase the representation of women’s history in our national parks and historic sites."

"Women’s history is American history. It’s time we better recognized women’s critical role in shaping our nation’s story in more places across our country," he added, along with pictures of him signing the order.

Internet reacts to Joe Biden's tweet

Netizens expressed discontent with the President's tweet, as evidenced by the subsequent posts.

"Endless pandering instead of anything of actual value like grocery prices or stopping the southern border invasion..," wrote a user.

"Out of all the problems in America, this is what he’s focused on," stated another user.

"People just sign executive orders for everything under the sun now," chided a user.

"Meanwhile there’s an invasion going on at the border and we’re worried about Women’s history in parks?!?!? Make it make sense!!" exclaimed another user.

"It’s an election year. Time to tell groups they’re underappreciated and the old white savior is going to help them. Couldn’t do it in his 50 previous years in office though," noted a user.
