NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Grey's Anatomy’ and ‘Euphoria’ star Eric Dane shared a very personal look at his love for Rebecca Gayheart in his final interview for the Netflix film ‘Famous Last Words.’
Released on Friday, February 20, just after the actor passed away from ALS, the 50-minute documentary shows Dane reflecting on his marriage and the deep bond he still had with the mother of his two children.

Eric Dane on enduring love for Rebecca Gayheart
Even though Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart eventually chose to live apart, Dane made it clear that their love never went away. In his interview with Brad Falchuk, he explained that their separation was simply about their living arrangements, not their feelings for each other.
“Well we still love each other deeply, I just don’t think we want to live with each other,” Dane said.
He was very open about how much she meant to him, adding, “There’s a lot of love there. I will never, by the time anybody sees this, would have ever fallen in love with another woman as deeply as I fell in love with Rebecca.”
Eric Dane recalls first meeting Rebecca Gayheart
Dane also looked back at the moment he first saw Rebecca and knew he wanted to be with her, even though she was in a relationship at the time.
He shared a story about telling her friend his intentions despite the challenges. “I met Rebecca and I turned to her friend and I said, ‘I’m going to marry that girl,’ I have no idea how serious I was in that moment, but I said that and her friend said, ‘No way. She’s never breaking up with her fiance, they’re getting married. They’ve been together since they were 15.’”
His confidence paid off when they married four years later, with Dane noting, “I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.”

Earlier on Friday, his representative, Melissa Bank, shared that Dane passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
The statement read, "He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the centre of his world. "He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he's received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time," the statement added.
