NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Eric Trump has once again stirred controversy and invited widespread mockery after making bold assertions about his father, Donald Trump.

In a recent interview, Eric praised his father’s "unvarnished honesty," a claim that was quickly met with ridicule across social media platforms, as per HuffPost.

During an appearance on the 'X22 Report', a platform notorious for promoting QAnon conspiracies and subsequently banned from major social media sites, Eric explained what he believes is his father's most significant legacy.

"I think my father will go down, maybe his greatest accomplishment will actually be kind of the unvarnished honesty that he’s really taken toward the whole system," Eric stated.

He elaborated by saying that the entrenched system in Washington, DC, was disrupted by his father. "He pulled the rug out from under it and exposed it for what it is," Eric continued.

This assertion, however, stands in stark contrast to well-documented evidence of Trump's frequent falsehoods. According to Politifact, about 76 percent of their 1,000 fact checks on Trump have been deemed false.

The Washington Post also recorded 30,573 false or misleading claims during his four years in office. Most recently, during a speech in Wisconsin, Trump reportedly made at least 30 false statements.

This isn't the first time Eric has made bold claims about his father. He recently suggested that the numerous criminal charges against Trump have boosted his support among historically marginalized communities, particularly Black Americans, Newsweek reported.

Speaking on Fox News' 'Sunday Morning Futures' with Maria Bartiromo, Eric touched upon his father's recent conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a criminal hush money trial in New York.

"These people are saying, 'Huh, it's really interesting. They did this to us for a long time. Now they're doing it to him. I might actually want to vote for the guy, you know, who'll fight back against this as we have tried to for so long,'" he claimed.

This sentiment echoes a statement Trump made in February when he told a group of Black conservatives that his legal battles are why "the Black people liked me." He remarked, "A lot of people said that's why the Black people liked me, because they have been hurt so badly and discriminated against."

Eric Trump's assertion about Donald Trump's 'unvarnished honesty' sparks mockery online

Eric's assertion about Trump's "unvarnished honesty" sparked intense mockery across social media. One X user quipped, "...only if history is drunk." Another remarked, "Eric really shouldn't use words like unvarnished. His head will ache for days now. He's his own worst enemy."

A user wrote, "Out of the mouth of an entitled narcissistic sociopath. Someone who would be flipping hamburgers if it weren’t for his daddy." Another user compared Eric to Adolf Hitler's propagandist, saying, "Goebbels would be proud."

"To be fair, he's never read any history so he probably doesn't know what it looks like," one user speculated. Another bluntly stated, "@EricTrump is so stupid he probably believes this... despite over 30,000 documented lies that his daddy told us all while in office... no more glue Eric."

One user pointed to the mental state of Eric, "He's as done mentally as is his father, because that is one whopper of a lie. His father hasn't told the truth about anything since before he graduated high school, except by accident, never intention."

Lastly, a user said, "They can’t even lie like normal people. The lies are all insane and the inverse of reality, like '1984' has come to life."
