NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Eric Trump accused the Biden administration of attempting to drive a wedge between his parents, former President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, as part of what he described as years of political and personal attacks on their family.

The claim came during an interview on Newsmax on Monday, September 29, where host Rob Schmitt played a montage of Democratic politicians and TV hosts criticizing the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

The Department of Justice recently brought charges against Comey at Donald Trump’s request, prompting critics to argue that the former president was once again using the DOJ to pursue his adversaries.

While pushing back against those accusations, Eric Trump argued that his family had been on the receiving end of political weaponization for years.

“I’m the subject of 112 subpoenas, never having done a damn thing wrong in my life, never crossing a line, being a perfect role model, being a perfect model citizen… and they came after me like I was a dog,” he said.

He then pivoted to his father, claiming that Donald Trump had endured repeated efforts to weaken him politically and personally.

“They tried to impeach my father two times… They raided his home! They raided Mar-a-Lago! They tried to get him divorced! They tried to separate our family!” Eric Trump alleged.

During the segment, Eric Trump recited a series of actions he claims were taken against his father.

These included the Russia investigation, the posting of Donald Trump’s mugshot, multiple indictments across jurisdictions, and restrictions placed on his social media accounts.

He specifically named Attorney General Merrick Garland and President Joe Biden as being “at the forefront” of the actions.

Eric Trump also recalled the FBI search of the Trumps’ Mar-a-Lago residence, saying federal agents looked through Melania Trump’s closet and even the bedroom of the couple’s teenage son, Barron Trump.

Donald Trump’s legal battles dominate US political landscape in 2025

The younger Trump’s comments come as his father continues to face ongoing legal battles, including cases connected to efforts to overturn the 2020 election, classified documents retained after leaving office, and falsification of business records.

For Eric Trump, however, the issue extends beyond legal challenges.

He framed the situation as a sustained campaign targeting not just his father but their entire family and business empire.

“They attacked us. They tried to bankrupt our company. They de-platformed us. They stripped every bank account away from me and the Trump Organization that you can imagine,” he said.
