Funding questions raised
Elizabeth Warren recently raised concerns about the transparency surrounding donations intended for the library.
ABC, Meta, X, and Paramount promised as much as $63 million in donations to Trump's future Presidential Library.

But now the Library Fund is dissolved, leaving the American people in the dark on the fate of millions of dollars.
Where did that money go? I’m pushing for answers.
"Now the Library Fund is dissolved, leaving the American people in the dark on the fate of millions of dollars," she wrote, adding, "Where did that money go? I'm pushing for answers."
Warren said companies including ABC News, Meta Platforms, X, and Paramount had pledged up to $63 million toward the project.
Warren, along with Richard Blumenthal and Representative Melanie Stansbury, has sought details on the pledged funds, according to The Washington Post.
The donations were linked to settlements from legal disputes with Trump, with millions expected to support the construction of the Miami facility.
However, the original nonprofit set up to receive the funds was dissolved after failing to file a required annual report. A second entity later reported receiving $50 million, though it remains unclear whether that includes the settlement money.
“Now it is unclear where this money has gone, exacerbating concerns about corruption that were apparent at the time of the settlement,” the lawmakers wrote.
Donald Trump vs Barack Obama's presidential libraries
The Donald J Trump Presidential Library is envisioned as a grand waterfront landmark in Miami, featuring a museum, fighter jets, and a decommissioned Air Force One, emphasizing legacy and visual appeal. In contrast, the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago is designed as a community-focused campus with public spaces, gardens, and a library branch aimed at local engagement.
Controversy around Trump’s library centers on political pressure from lawmakers seeking answers about pledged money, while the Obama center has triggered backlash over gentrification, with residents raising concerns about rising rents, property taxes, and displacement.

The comparison isn't even close 😭
What an embarrassment for Hussein.

While Trump’s project remains in early stages with its impact yet to be seen, the Obama Center is already reshaping its surrounding community, even as supporters argue it will provide long-term public benefits.
Barack Obama Presidential Center project faces backlash
The renewed focus on Trump’s library comes as Obama’s presidential center in Chicago faces criticism over rising costs and community impact.
We can’t wait to open our doors to the Obama Presidential Center next spring! In addition to a world-class museum, the 19.3-acre campus will feature a gymnasium, a fruit and vegetable garden, a branch of the Chicago Public Library, a playground, and so much more. Residents and activists have warned that the development in Jackson Park is contributing to gentrification, increasing rents and property taxes in surrounding neighborhoods.
“We're going to see rents go higher and we're going to see families displaced. Every time large development comes to communities, they displace the very people they say they want to improve it for,” said local alderwoman Jeanette Taylor as per a Daily Mail report.
Critics have also raised concerns over affordability and inclusivity, while some residents described the project as out of scale with the neighborhood.
Trump has repeatedly criticized the Obama project, calling it over budget and delayed. “Illinois is spending hundreds of millions of dollars in trying to BAIL OUT Obama’s badly delayed, and tremendously over budget, ‘Library,’” he wrote on Truth Social. “The neighborhood is ANGRY AS HELL. It is a total disaster!”

Supporters of the Obama center, however, say it will provide public resources, including community spaces, a library branch, and recreational facilities, maintaining it will benefit the South Side in the long term.
