WASHINGTON, DC: After the members of Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) voiced their dissatisfaction over the Trump administration’s work, Erika Kirk arranged a meeting between President Donald Trump, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and MAHA advocates at the White House.

Erika Kirk, the slain right-wing activist Charlie Kirk’s widow and the CEO of Turning Point USA, was behind the meeting between upset MAHA activists and Trump this month, Politico reported.

Half of MAHA supporters dissatisfied with Trump admin

The meeting comes after a recent poll found that nearly half of the people who identify themselves as MAHA activists had expressed their dissatisfaction with the work of the Trump administration. MAHA advocates think Trump has not done enough to make America healthy again and meet their goals.

MAHA forms a noticeable share of conservatives who helped propel Trump to the White House in the 2024 presidential election.

A person involved in setting up the meeting told The Politico that Erika is “taking the reins” at a key moment ahead of midterms

"Charlie was a coalition builder, right? Like, he tried to bring these groups together,” the insider told the outlet.

“Erika, kind of taking the reins in that way and seeing what she could do, it’s exactly how Charlie also operated and handled issues like this.”

Trump met MAHA advocates behind closed doors

The matters of the meeting were mostly kept under wraps as President Trump met MAHA workers behind closed doors.

Some in the MAHA movement grew discontent after the Trump administration’s decision enabling the chemical giant Bayer to increase production of its weed killer, Roundup. The decision was taken in February.

One of the MAHA figures, who is also a Turning Point Podcast host, Alex Clark, had voiced his dissatisfaction.

“WE ARE IN A MIDTERM YEAR @GOP, IF YOU WANT MAHA VOTERS, ACT LIKE IT,” Clark reacted in a post on X in February.

“We’re not even sure that we even have a path forward in this administration when it comes to pesticides, because it’s very clear that they are entirely owned by Bayer and the chemical companies,” influencer Kelly Ryerson, AKA Glyphosate Girl, who was also at the meeting, added at the time.

White House is in contact with MAHA stakeholders

Talking to the outlet, White House spokesman Kush Desai said that the Trump administration and officials “are in routine contact with MAHA stakeholders and influencers to hear their concerns, questions, and suggestions, and the April MAHA roundtable was one of many such engagements that have been productive for everyone involved.”

A recently held survey by the outlet revealed that 47 per cent of MAHA supporters are not happy with the Trump admin and think that Trump has not done enough to make America healthy again.
