LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rumors about the renowned Hollywood couple Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union's marriage are making the rounds on social media, with viral posts claiming the longtime couple is getting a divorce. The speculation has fueled widespread discussion among fans, prompting questions about whether the reports are based on any verified announcement or are simply celebrity rumors circulating online.

Claim: Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are getting a divorce

The rumor began spreading after the X account Hoops Crave posted, "Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are reportedly getting a divorce."  At the time of writing, the post had received more than 6 million views, triggering widespread speculation online.

Many users questioned whether the claim was real. One user asked, "Is this the real one or the fake one? I can't tell."

The rumor surfaced shortly after Dwyane Wade spoke publicly about his Father's Day plans for 2026.

During an interview with People at the 'Fragrance Foundation Awards,' the former NBA star said he would spend part of the day with his wife, Gabrielle Union, and their family before leaving for a golf trip that Union had planned for him.

"I [am going to] spend a little time with the family, but my wife is actually sending me on a golf trip," Wade said. "So I'm going to go golf with my guys."

Fact Check: False, the claim originated as satire

The claim is false. No credible news outlet, court record, or statement from Dwyane Wade or Gabrielle Union supports the rumor that they are getting a divorce. The couple has remained married since 2014, and there have been no verified reports of a separation or divorce filing.

The rumor originated from the X account Hoops Crave, which identifies itself as a satire account and is known for posting fabricated celebrity headlines to generate engagement. However, many users shared the post as if it were real.

Recent public appearances and interviews also contradict the claim. In 2026, Wade and Union attended several high-profile events together, including the Met Gala and WNBA games. In early July, Wade spoke warmly about Union during an interview, reflecting their continued relationship.

Union and Wade married on August 30, 2014, after several years of dating. Although they briefly separated in 2013 while managing a long-distance relationship and busy careers, they later reconciled and married in Miami.

Today, they continue to raise their daughter, Kaavia James, who was born via surrogate in 2018, along with Wade's children from previous relationships and his nephew.
