The video claimed that "anyone seen wearing a MAGA hat will be immediately detained and banned from all Disney theme parks from at least a year."

Similar claims also made its way to other social media platforms, such as Instagram and X.

False: No evidence Disney implemented any such policy

The claims made in the online rumor are false, as there is no evidence Disney implemented a policy banning people from wearing MAGA hats, Snopes reported.

Moreover, the rumor originated from Mouse Trap News, a website that describes its content as being humorous or satirical, according to the fact-checking outlet.

The Website's about page states, "Mouse Trap News is the world's best satire and parody site, and authors of The Ultimate Guide to an Affordable Disney Trip, a best-seller. We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff."

It further mentions, "From Disney Park announcements to Disney Hotel and resort news to made-up Disney partnerships, you can be assured that anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate, but it is fun. So technically our slogan The Moused Trusted Name in Disney News isn't true, but we thought it was creative and funny, so we are running with it."

Furthermore, the bio of Mouse Trap News' TikTok, Instagram, and X accounts read, "Real Disney News That is 100% FAKE."

Trump made MAGA hats a staple of his 2024 campaign

President Trump introduced the campaign merchandise in 2016 that would arguably become the most well-known political clothing of modern times.

In 2024, the third iteration of the Trump campaign sold millions of red "Make America Great Again" hats, and sales hit a new milestone, according to Independent.

Trump officials told the outlet in November 2024 that more than 2 million MAGA hats were shipped out by the Trump campaign since the beginning of 2023, with more than 1,285,000 of those sold between January and October 2024.

The outlet reported that for old and new Trump supporters, spending $40 to don the red hat was the easiest way to show their admiration for the then-presidential candidate.
