The claim surfaced on X, showing a photo of young Affleck followed by the remark stating, “Before I die, I will marry two of the four most famous Jennifers in the world. I'm not joking."
The post has garnered almost three million views as of this writing, drawing mixed reactions from fans and online users.’
While many appeared to praise the actor for his prediction, others remained skeptical and questioned whether Affleck really made those remarks, prompting a fact-check of the quote.
Fact Check: The quote is fabricated
The quote, however, is fabricated, as there is no evidence of the 54-year-old actor making such a remark when he was younger.
A reverse image search for the photo in the post revealed that it was taken from Affleck’s actual 1990 Cambridge Rindge & Latin yearbook entry, accompanied by a statement reading, “What a long, strange trip it’s been…” followed by initials, and contains no statement about marrying “two of the four most famous Jennifers.”
A search on Google to check if Affleck has ever made such a statement yielded no credible reports, which, if true, would not go unreported by prominent news and entertainment media outlets.
Ben Affleck says romance isn't a priority now
Affleck was married to actress Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018 and to Jennifer Lopez from 2002 to 2004.
The claim likely surfaced after the 'Argo' actor recently stated that he is not focusing on romance following his split from Lopez after two years of marriage.
At the premiere of his new film 'Animals', Affleck revealed that his love life is currently not a priority and is more focused on his children and work.
He explained that there “isn’t a lot of room” for romance in his life right now, and shared that he is not even “running around” looking for a relationship.
“I know what my priorities are. You can’t have two things that are the most important in your life,” he explained during an interaction with Entertainment Tonight. “For me, that’s the kids. So that’s what that is. And then I have my work, which I love.”
