WASHINGTON, DC: A rumor claiming singer Billie Eilish will not release new music until President Donald Trump ends “the war” is gaining traction online.

The claim, shared with a short video that appears to show Eilish making the statement, has spread among pro-Trump social media users.

The rumor has drawn attention partly because Eilish has openly discussed political issues and criticized the Trump administration in the past.

Claim: Billie Eilish will not release new music until Trump ends the war

The rumor has been spreading online, claiming that Billie Eilish said she would not release new music until Trump ends the war.

The post included a six-second close-up video of Eilish speaking and attributed the statement to her.

The post said, “Singer Billie Eilish said ‘I’m not releasing any more music until Trump ends the war.’ What’s your reaction to this?” At the time of writing, the post had received more than 72,000 views and 4,100 comments.

The claim has also prompted reactions from social media users. One user commented, “Maybe she should negotiate not kill Americans, the western and young children from force marriage and for peace.”

The claim comes amid the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran. The US and Israel began military operations against Iran in late February 2026, and the conflict has continued for roughly five to six months.

Trump has repeatedly described the conflict as nearing an end or claimed that the fighting would be short.

However, recent reports have highlighted limited progress toward some of the administration’s stated goals, economic effects, including pressure on oil and gas prices, concerns over US ammunition supplies, and political pressure ahead of the midterm elections.

Recent coverage has focused on Trump’s efforts to manage the consequences of the conflict and prevent further escalation.

Fact Check: False, no evidence to back the viral claim

The claim is false. No verified interview, social media post, or official statement from Billie Eilish supports the claim that she said she would not release new music until Trump ends the war.

The video also carries the label “Made with Grok Imagine,” indicating that it may have been generated or altered using AI. However, there is no independent evidence confirming that Eilish made the statement.

The short clip has not appeared in reliable news reports or on Eilish’s official social media accounts. Searches for the alleged quote mainly lead to viral posts and reactions rather than an original interview or other credible source confirming it.

Eilish has openly criticized the Trump administration and spoken about political and social issues. At the 2026 Grammy Awards, she and her brother, Finneas, wore “ICE OUT” pins.

During her 'Song of the Year' acceptance speech, Eilish also expressed support for immigrants and criticized the administration’s immigration policies.

While Eilish’s political activism is well documented, there is no reliable evidence that she has made future music releases conditional on Trump ending a war.
