LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Shelton and Jelly Roll have teamed up on music projects and live performances, but a new online post claims their partnership has hit a rough patch.

The viral post says Shelton canceled four shows with Jelly Roll after country music fans pushed back, and that he responded by saying, “My fans have spoken.” The claim has sparked questions online about whether Shelton really walked away from the shows because of fan backlash.

Claim: Blake Shelton canceled four shows with Jelly Roll after fan backlash

An X post claimed that Blake Shelton canceled four co-headlining shows with Jelly Roll after facing backlash from country music fans.

The post used a photo of the two artists and quotes Shelton as saying, “My Fans Have Spoken.” The claim suggests Shelton decided to cancel the shows because fans no longer wanted to see Jelly Roll perform with him.

The post also argued that Shelton has generally stayed out of politics and says the alleged decision had nothing to do with politics.

The user also claimed that Jelly Roll had “ruined his career” and that country music fans no longer wanted to see him.

The post ended by repeating the claim in a headline-style statement: “Blake Shelton Cancels Four Shows with Jelly Roll: ‘My Fans Have Spoken.’”

An X user wrote, “What is going on with this? Is it even true?”

Fact Check: The claim is false

The claim is false. The story comes from a September 4, 2026, article published by Dunning-Kruger-Times.com, a known satire and parody website.

The site published fictional stories and has previously shared similar fabricated claims about Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, Kid Rock, and Jason Aldean. For example, the site published a 2024 story claiming that Shelton was organizing a hurricane benefit concert.

The article also uses exaggerated and humorous details, such as references to checking tractor oil, mathematical “all-caps intensity” calculations, and jokes about fans thinking “Jelly Roll is a breakfast food.” These details reflect the site's satirical style.

No credible news outlets or official sources have reported that Shelton canceled four co-headlining shows with Jelly Roll. Neither Shelton, his representatives, tour promoters, nor ticketing platforms have announced such cancellations. There is also no evidence that the two artists had planned co-headlining arena shows that Shelton later canceled because of fan backlash.

Shelton and Jelly Roll have appeared on the same festival lineups, including Rock the Country earlier in 2026. However, those appearances do not support the claim that Shelton canceled four shows with Jelly Roll.

The rumor may have gained attention because Jelly Roll recently faced real criticism from some fans. In late August 2026, he drew backlash after joking about President Trump while guest-hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Organizers later withdrew an invitation for him to perform at the Big Blue Bash, a police fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. Jelly Roll is also taking an extended break from touring for personal reasons.

These real events may have helped the satirical story spread, but they do not make the claim about Shelton's canceled shows true.
