Fact Check: Did Candace Owens' husband have a criminal record?
WASHINGTON, DC: A rumor has been going viral on social media platforms claiming that George Farmer, the husband of conservative commentator Candace Owens, has a criminal record. The claim surfaced after Laura Loomer shared an arrest record claiming to belong to Farmer. Let us analyse the authenticity of the claim and fact-check it.
Claim: Candace Owens' husband, George Farmer, has a criminal history
The claim that Candace Owens’ husband, George Farmer, was once arrested for possessing a handgun has sparked a debate and controversy on social media platforms.
The claim emerged after Trump aide Laura Loomer posted an arrest record of an individual named George Farmer and even tagged Owens in the post. The post quickly went viral, sparking debates and discussions about the claim.
This was not the first time Loomer had gone down this road. Back in 2025, she had posted a tip she claimed came through her tip line, alleging that Farmer had been involved in a DUI incident in Tennessee.
She claimed he had been found walking alongside a highway carrying a firearm and shared what she described as arrest records to back up the claim.
Fact Check: No evidence that Candace Owens' husband has a criminal record
Although the person mentioned in the arrest document bears the name of George Farmer, there is no credible evidence that supports the claim that Owens’ husband has a criminal record.
Other than the name, there is no other viral identification information that reveals the person’s identity.
Owens rejected the claim, accusing Loomer of cherry-picking and spreading misinformation, and accused Loomer of redacting identification marks such as eye color, skin color, and hair color from the document, which is missing from the record posted by Loomer.
Laura Loomer's previous attacks against Candace Owens
Earlier this month, Loomer lashed out on X, accusing Candace Owens, along with Tucker Carlson, of aligning against President Trump by booking interviews with Joe Kent.
Loomer wrote, "Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson have both announced they are interviewing Joe Kent this week. Kent resigned from his job as Director of the National Counter Terrorism Center less than 12 hours ago, and he is already booked on the shows of 2 of the biggest Trump haters."
Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson have both announced they are interviewing Joe Kent this week, which irked Lommer.
