GLENDALE, ARIZONA: A rumor has been circulating that Charlie Kirk's parents were not present at his memorial service.

Speculation spread on X (formerly Twitter) that Charlie Kirk’s parents, Robert W Kirk and Kathryn Kirk, were nowhere to be seen at their son’s public memorial on September 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Some users pointed out that the couple didn’t speak, weren’t spotted on camera, and weren’t acknowledged from the stage. This fueled whispers of a possible family estrangement, with some going so far as to claim they “most likely” weren’t even in the audience.

Fact Check: False, Charlie Kirk's parents attended memorial

Charlie Kirk’s parents were in attendance. Multiple credible reports and eyewitnesses confirm that Robert and Kathryn Kirk were present at the memorial, though they kept a low profile. This aligned with Charlie’s lifelong habit of keeping his family out of the media spotlight.

There is no evidence of a family rift. Instead, the event highlighted tributes from President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Tucker Carlson, along with personal reflections from Kirk’s widow, Erika

Conflicting reports fueled rumors about Charlie Kirk’s parents at memorial

The confusion gained traction after some notable outlets missed the mark. One foreign media outlet even reported that Kirk’s parents didn’t attend.

“Charlie Kirk's memorial event at State Farm in Arizona saw an array of high-profile guests in attendance. From Donald Trump to JD Vance to Tucker Carlson — many big names of US politics graced the occasion. But what was notable was the absence of Kirk's family members," the report mentioned.

"Organized by Turning Point USA, the group Kirk founded, the event was the organization's first since Charlie's wife, Erika Kirk, was announced as the new CEO. While many big names spoke at the event, no other member of Kirk's family, other than Erika, appeared," it continued.

“Thus, not only did Charlie Kirk's parents speak at the memorial, but they were also most likely not present in the audience. The event was all about the conservative movement celebrating Kirk's life," the outlet declared.

"Despite the notable absence of family members at Charlie Kirk's memorial, snippets from Kirk's family life featured time to time in between the speeches delivered in his memory. One such message was Charlie and Erika's daughter singing 'Jesus Loves Me' as a tribute to her late father.”

Reports like this, often riddled with contradictions, helped cement the false idea that Kirk’s parents skipped the service.

Photos confirm Robert and Kathryn Kirk attended Charlie Kirk’s memorial

Photos surfaced on X showing Robert and Kathryn Kirk at the memorial. They weren’t behind a podium, but they were very much present to honor their son. Even X’s built-in bot, Grok AI, cleared things up when asked directly.

“Yes, Charlie Kirk's parents, Robert and Kathryn, attended his memorial service on Sept. 21, 2025, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. They were in the VIP section with his widow Erika, sister Hannah, and other family, though they didn't speak publicly. Sources confirm their presence amid the large crowd," it clarified.
