WASHINGTON, DC: A rumor has been circulating on social media claiming that President Donald Trump ordered an end to former President Joe Biden's lifetime Secret Service protection after reportedly being called a 'loser.' The claim has sparked speculation online, with many users questioning whether a former president can lose federally mandated security.

The viral posts have gained traction across social media, prompting confusion about Biden's security status and Trump's authority over Secret Service protection. Here's a closer look at the claim and what the facts show.

According to the viral claim, Trump officially revoked Joe Biden's security clearance and Secret Service protection after the former president went on another unhinged rant, calling Trump a “loser.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt allegedly said, “Calling the sitting President of the United States a loser crosses the line. Joe Biden is on his own.”

The post further states that Biden has to pay out of pocket for his own security, which is estimated to cost $3 million a year.

Many users in the comments appeared to believe the claim, while others questioned whether Trump had the authority to make such a decision.

The claim is false as there are no reports of Trump revoking Biden's lifetime Secret Service protection.

A Google search for Trump ending protection for Biden and Biden calling Trump a 'loser' yielded no credible reports from major news organizations. The alleged remark by Leavitt is also unsupported by any factual evidence.

Although Trump ended Secret Service protection for Biden's adult children, the president cannot revoke the lifetime Secret Service protection granted to former presidents under federal law.

Further searches showed the claim originated from the Facebook parody account 'America's Last Line Of Defense,' which states in its bio, “Nothing on this page is real.”

A fact check by Grok stated, “The claim is false. Trump did not revoke Joe Biden's Secret Service protection or security clearance; federal law mandates lifetime protection for former presidents that cannot be unilaterally removed.”

The claim surfaced after Biden, on Saturday, June 27, accused Trump of using the presidency for personal gain, saying the administration's renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool symbolized what he described as unprecedented corruption in government.

Speaking at the Maryland Democratic Party's 'Fight Back & Win Gala,' Biden also criticized Trump's foreign policy, White House renovation plans, and other projects, calling them examples of misplaced priorities.

His remarks came as Democrats seek to energize supporters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
