WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is known for expressing his thoughts on his social media platform, Truth Social. Over the last few months, the POTUS has made several posts on the platform, from announcing a few things to just ranting.

Recently, a rumor circulated online claiming that President Trump demanded people "stop calling me names" and listing nicknames he "will not tolerate being called" in a Truth Social post. But is there any truth to this? Let's find out below.

Claim: Donald Trump posted on social media, saying 'stop calling me names'

On May 31, people on social media shared a picture that looked like a screenshot of a post from President Donald Trump's Truth Social account.

The screenshot showed Trump allegedly demanding that people stop calling him names, and listed nicknames he "will not tolerate being called."

The alleged post started, "STOP CALLING ME NAMES!" and went on to list several nicknames, such as "TACO", "Man-Baby", "Tiny Hands", "Grifter-in-Chief", "Don the Con", and "DonOld".

The post concluded, "Don't make me throw ketchup at the wall, because I will."

Moreover, the alleged screenshot included Truth Social's verified red tick mark next to Trump's name.

The purported screenshot was shared across X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Reddit. An X user shared the screenshot and captioned it, "Uh oh! #TACOTrump’s bigly mad."

False: Donald Trump did not make such a post on Truth Social

The claims made in the online rumor are false, as Donald Trump did not make any such post from his Truth Social account. There is no evidence of this post on the POTUS' official Truth Social account, Snopes reported.

'Trump's Truth', a website that archives every post from Trump's official Truth Social account, including deleted ones, also showed no record of Trump posting, "Don't make me throw ketchup at the wall, because I will", per the fact-checking outlet.

Furthermore, searches on search engines, such as Google and Bing, for the phrase "STOP CALLING ME NAMES" showed no authentic results, thus proving that there's no evidence that the post appeared on any of Trump's other social media accounts.

Fake posts attributed to Donald Trump went viral earlier

This is not the first time a fake post attributed to President Donald Trump has gone viral. Many posts, claiming to be posted by the POTUS, have surfaced online earlier as well.

In March 2025, a screenshot went viral purportedly showing a post from Trump's Truth Social account that read, "After I've annexed Greenland and making it the 52nd State, I will annexe Alaska. The people of Alaska don't want to be part of a backward nation in Canada. I will make all Alaskan's rich and prosperous when they become the 53rd State of our mighty country. Nobody in Greenland or Alaska would ever have dreamed of this under Crooked Joe Biden."

However, the screenshot was fake as there is no evidence that Trump posted the message on Truth Social or any other social media account.

Similarly, in February 2025, a supposed Truth Social post by the POTUS in which he called teachers "ugly" began circulating online.

The screenshot read, "The Department of Education, as we will all soon find out, is one of the terrible organizations on Earth, with millions wasted over many years developing a hybrid of the fork and spoon in our cafeterias (which no one likes). Millions spent teaching our educators, many of which are very ugly, how to read before they are allowed to teach our children."

It added, "Tens of Millions, even Billions, reinforcing flawed DEI - or DEWHY as we call it now policies of extreme radicals to indoctrinate our youth by enforcing peanut bans to accommodate a very small group (very LOUD) who don't like the beautiful nut. This horrible "department" must be stopped NOW!"

However, this was also fake as Trump did not make any such post.
