According to a viral post on X, Shawn Corey Carter, popularly known by his stage name Jay-Z, has revealed that he has limited his daughter Blue Ivy’s weekly allowance to  $50. "I want her to know what the struggle feels like," the rapper reportedly said.

The post has garnered almost two million views as of this writing, with the comment section indicating mixed reactions from fans and other online users.

While many mocked the claim, suggesting they believed the claim, others remained skeptical, calling for a fact-check.

Fact Check: The claim originated as satire

However, the claim is false, as there is no evidence that the Grammy Award winner stated he has limited his daughter’s weekly allowance.

No credible news or entertainment media outlets have reported on the alleged remark that he wants her to know what struggle feels like, which, if true, will not go unreported.

A Google search for the claim also yielded no relevant results that support it. There is also no trace of his making such a statement on any of his social media platforms.

Additionally, the claim originated from a popular satire account on X called ‘HoopsCrave,’ which describes itself in the bio as a ‘parody account.’

A fact-check by Grok AI confirmed that post to be fake, stating, “The claim that Jay-Z limits Blue Ivy’s allowance to $50 a week so she can ‘know what the struggle feels like’ is false. It originated as a viral post from the parody account HoopsCrave and has no supporting interview, quote, or reliable source. Jay-Z has never made this statement.”
