Jay-Z started 'getting Grammys left and right' after 'marriage contract' with Beyonce, claims 50 Cent
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 50 Cent claims fellow rapper Jay-Z's success in the music industry is partly due to his "marriage contract" with Beyonce.
Notably, 50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, has established himself as one of the most vocal critics of the Roc Nation founder.
In his latest tirade against Jay-Z, the 49-year-old South Jamaica native claimed that the rapper started getting "Grammys left and right" only after his marriage to the 'Crazy in Love' hitmaker, as per Hot New Hip Hop.
50 Cent alleges Jay-Z’s ‘marriage contract’ with Beyonce made him a bigger artist
During his recent appearance on Andrew Schulz's 'FLAGRANT' podcast, 50 Cent claimed, "When Jay signed his contract, the big one was with Beyonce. When he signed that contract, the marriage contract, he got trophies."
He continued, "Now those f***ing trophies came rolling in buddy. He started getting Grammys left and right. If you look at his career, he had one. He got like 20 now."
Following the 'FLAGRANT' squad’s loud outburst at 50 Cent’s claims, Schulz asked whether all of Jay-Z’s wins are connected with his "marriage contract."
The 'Intro' singer wasted no time in doubling down, as he responded, "Absolutely. He’s been treated differently." He further mentioned that Jay-Z's towering position in the music industry is "because of the position Beyonce’s in."
Jay-Z and Beyonce tied the knot in 2008 after crossing paths for the first time in 2000.
The couple went on to welcome their daughter Blue Ivy Carter in 2012 and further expanded their family in 2017 when they welcomed their twins, Rumi and Sir.
To date, Jay-Z has received 89 Grammy nominations and won 24. At the 2024 Grammys, the 55-year-old was even honored with the Dr Dre Global Impact Award.
Meanwhile, Beyonce has been nominated 99 times and won 32, making her the most decorated Grammy artist in history.
The 43-year-old was also recently named the Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century by Billboard. Notably, Jay-Z was ranked No 16 on the list.
Internet divided over 50 Cent's claims about Jay-Z's Grammy wins
As 50 Cent made his bombshell claims about Jay-Z on the 'FLAGRANT podcast, a section of the internet sided with him. However, another group simply requested him to make more music instead of "gossiping."
Under the YouTube video of the podcast, one wrote, "Bro been hating on Jay-Z for years."
"Why won't he hate on someone who tried to blackballed him when he was coming up? Remember Jay Z diss 50 even before 'get rich or die trying,'" someone else said, defending 50 Cent.
A fan urged, "I like 50 but all he does is gossip and troll bro go back to music man!!!" while a person quipped, "Between 50 and Dame i dont know which one talks about Jay more. Them dudes like Jay's groupies."
"Jay’s biggest fan," one wrote sarcastically, with another person adding, "I'm not JayZ fan but this is hating on a whole new level. When did 50 cent get so bitter."
A Jay-Z fan hit back, "Isn’t it interesting that HOV remains so relevant without saying a word about anyone ? But 50 has to mention HOv and others in order to remain current and relevant. If he doesn’t gossip he will be quickly forgotten." Young Hov, Hova, and J-Hova are some of the aliases used by Jay-Z (born Shawn Corey Carter).
"I wish 50 would make some good music again instead of gossiping all the time," one more expressed.
Another fan observed, "This man is obsessed with JaY z . 50 is so irrelevant, no one mentions him , so to keep relevant he has to gossip about HOV personal life for rest of his life …"
Nevertheless, another fan applauded him, writing, "50 is just the absolute best."
