MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: Former Vice President Kamala Harris has often stayed away from the limelight following her 2024 Presidential race defeat against President Donald Trump. She appeared publicly last year during the promotion of her new book on the past election.

However, a rumor recently circulated online claiming that the former VP bought an $8 million mansion in Malibu's celeb-packed Pt Dume. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.

Several X users took to the platform to claim that Kamala Harris bought an $8 million mansion in Malibu. An X user @NJPoster wrote, "Kamala Harris upgrades LA real estate portfolio with $8M mega mansion in Malibu’s celeb-packed Pt Dume."



Similarly, another X user @EdBaker3000 mentioned, "Has she paid back her campaign loans already? Kamala Harris upgrades LA real estate portfolio with $8M mega mansion in Malibu’s celeb-packed Pt Dume."

The outlet mentioned that Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff recently spent $8.15 million on a 4,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Point Dume, a neighborhood in Malibu, citing the California Post.  

As per the report, several Point Dume residents have spotted Emhoff strolling through the neighborhood. The neighborhood has attracted several A-list actors over the years, including Sean Penn, Gerard Butler, and Julia Roberts

The former Vice President was born and raised in Northern California, but has made LA her primary residence after marrying Emhoff in 2014.

As per an online listing, the couple's new home was originally built in 1979 and sits on three-quarters of an acre. It has a main living area that 'is bathed in natural light, featuring high wood-beamed ceilings, a built-in speaker system, and a gas fireplace.'

Kamala Harris delivered strong remarks criticizing Donald Trump on the fifth anniversary of January 6, 2021, attacks on US Capitol. She took to X to describe the events of January 6 as a defining and deeply alarming moment in American history.

"Five years ago, an armed mob stormed the United States Capitol. Inspired by lies and hatred spewed by Donald Trump, they used brutal violence and intimidation in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election," Harris wrote.



She added, "And since returning to office, Trump pardoned the insurrectionists who betrayed their country." Harris reflected on the broader implications and said, "January 6, 2021, showed us how fragile our democracy is."

"We, the people, must fight back against Donald Trump and his cronies as they sow chaos and fear among the American people," Harris added.
