The post presented the incident as a real encounter and included an alleged conversation between a passerby and Sasha Obama about her political views. It further claimed she rejected her father’s presidency and said she had come to support Trump. Let’s fact-check the story.

Claim: Sasha Obama denounced her father's presidency



According to an X user post, an alleged story circulated claiming that Sasha Obama, the daughter of former President Barack Obama, denounced her father’s presidency.

The post began, "The daughter of DISGRACED former President Barack Obama was reportedly seen in a Washington DC restaurant this morning wearing a red 'Make America Great Again' baseball cap."

The post also included a supposed conversation between a passer-by and Sasha Obama, “When asked by a passer-by about the pro-Trump attire, Sasha Obama allegedly replied with a strong DENOUNCEMENT of her father's presidency and stated that she is 'a registered Republican who proudly voted for and stands with President Trump'.”

It further attributed another quote to her, “My father nearly destroyed this country, and President Trump is still trying to clean up his mess."

The post concluded, “When asked if she believed she was betraying her dad, she is said to have replied, 'As I've gotten older, I've realized that I am my own woman and can make up my own mind. Trump was right about everything'. She then walked out of the restaurant donning her MAGA cap with a big smile on her face.”
