According to a viral post that surfaced on X, Carney recently mocked Trump's claim of ending eight wars and demanding a Nobel Peace Prize for it. Carney allegedly said, “President actually started a war against Iran, lost it, and fools everyone by saying he settled it just to win a Nobel. Absolutely crazy."

The claim has been amplified by several accounts on X, garnering more than 100,000 views as of this writing, with comments indicating that many believe it is true, while a few others question its authenticity.

Fact Check: Mark Carney made no such remark

The claim, however, is false, as there is no evidence of the Canadian Prime Minister making such a remark.

There are no official statements, announcements, press releases, or transcripts of Carney that match the remark.

A search on Google for the claim yielded no credible reports by prominent news media outlets, which, if true, would have been widely reported and made headlines.

Moreover, the claim originated from an X account called ‘InfoGram’ which describes itself in the bio as ‘Satire commentary.’ Hence, the quote is fabricated, made for the sake of engagement.

A fact check by Grok stated, “The quote is a satire. There are no publicly available reports of Mark Carney making such a statement against President Trump.”

The claim surfaced after Trump warned Canadian politicians, including Carney, that making him “the enemy” could bring severe political consequences.

In a Truth Social post of September 3, Trump wrote, “It is very good for Canadian Politicians like Prime Minister Carney to make President Donald J. Trump “the enemy,” until their Economy collapses; then it will prove to be very bad for Politics — Worse than anything that has ever happened to a Canadian Politician. Just watch!"

Previously, while answering reporters' questions, Trump recalled people asking, “Who’s the toughest one to deal with? Is it China, sir? Is it China? Is it Vietnam?” To which he replied, “No, actually, it’s Canada.”
