Multiple reports have made claims about conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln as its Middle East deployment enters its ninth month. Some reports alleged that seven sailors died in a brawl, while others raised concerns about sailors trying to go overboard and their mental health.
One report raised concerns about sailors going overboard during the carrier's extended deployment, stating, "Multiple USS Abraham Lincoln sailors overboard amid extended deployment.”
Another report made the more serious allegation that a deadly fight had taken place aboard the carrier, stating, "Deadly Brawl Reported Aboard USS Abraham Lincoln After 359-Day Deployment.”
A separate post repeated the death claim, saying, "Seven dead in brawl aboard USS Abraham Lincoln."

Fact Check: False, CENTCOM rejects report
The claim is false. US Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected the reports about deaths aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, saying, "These reports are FALSE."
Addressing the carrier's crew and its long deployment, CENTCOM said, "USS Abraham Lincoln has maintained among the highest crew reenlistment rates (84.4%) of all aircraft carriers in the U.S. Navy."

CENTCOM also highlighted the crew's performance during the deployment, stating, "The Sailors and Marines of the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group remain resilient and resolved after more than 260 days at sea, 10,000 aircraft flights, and 1.5 million pounds of ordnance expended."
The command then directly addressed the reports of deaths, saying, "No service members aboard the aircraft carrier have died, and the one Sailor who fell overboard Aug. 3 was quickly and safely recovered."
CENTCOM also criticized the spread of inaccurate reports and warned that "The rampant misreporting on Abraham Lincoln's historic deployment is a disservice to our men and women in uniform and their loved ones."
