An X user named Taxman TM claimed that Sony Records had dropped Jelly Roll, describing the alleged decision as “bad news.”
The post said, “More bad news for Jelly Roll this morning. The label that built his brand and made him a superstar has dropped him like a bad habit.”
The post also attributed a statement to Sony Records Vice President Joseph Barron. It quoted him as saying, “It's unfortunate that we had to take this extreme measure. Sadly, Jelly Roll broke the cardinal rule: Don't alienate your own fans.”
The post claimed Barron said the company did not want to take sides and that dropping Jelly Roll was a business decision. It also attributed another statement to Barron, saying, “He's bad for the bottom line.”

Fact Check: False, Jelly Roll never signed to Sony Records
