The rumor originated with an X user, @bigj16633, who claimed Tom Brady had opened up about the heartbreak of watching his family fall apart.
The viral post claimed that Brady said his ex-wife Bundchen cheated on him, ended their marriage, and now has their children calling another man “papa.” It also claimed that Brady pays $700K a month in child support and "regrets getting married."
The post came after the recent attention around Gisele Bundchen’s relationship with her husband, Joaquim Valente, who previously taught jiu-jitsu to her children. A Father’s Day post that featured Valente instead of Brady reportedly sparked criticism online and revived old rumors about infidelity.
However, Brady has spoken publicly about having limited time for a personal life while focusing on his career and children.
The viral X post had received more than 987K views at the time of writing, with several users sharing and reacting to the claims.
One user urged young men to learn from Brady’s alleged experience, writing, “Every young man needs to hear this and learn to protect themselves.”
Fact Check: The claim is false
The claim is false. The X post by @BigJ16633, published on August 31, 2026, uses a real short video of Tom Brady but adds a fabricated caption.
In the video, Brady talks about fatherhood and how his own father shaped the way he wants to raise his children.
He says his father is his example of how to keep a family together, care for and support loved ones, and raise children to be happy and respectful.
"When I think about being a dad. I think about him. Because of what my dad meant to me. And I know I'm not as good a dad to my kids. That my dad's been to me? And I use them as my example. As to how to keep a family together and to care and to support and to love and? We want our kids to be happy. I want them to be respectful of people."
Brady and Gisele Bundchen divorced in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. They described the split as amicable at the time and have continued to co-parent their children. Brady has also spoken in other interviews about the challenges he faced during his final NFL season, parenting in general, and balancing work with raising his children.
None of Brady's comments support the specific claims made in the viral post. The video does not show him saying that Bundchen cheated on him, that he regrets getting married, or that he pays $700K a month in child support. The viral post therefore misrepresents what Brady actually said.
