WASHINGTON, DC: A screenshot has been going viral on social media platforms, claiming to show a post by President Donald Trump in which he claimed that he graduated top of his class in the Navy SEALs. The alleged post gained traction as the tensions with Iran continue to escalate. Let us analyze and fact-check whether Trump really posted it.

The screenshot shows a purported post by Trump on his official Truth Social handle. The alleged post begins with, “What the f*** did you just f***ing say about me, you little s***?"

"III have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and Ive been involved in numerous secret raids on A*-Q*****, and I have over 300 confirmed kills."

"I am trained in gorilla warfare and Im the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the f*** out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my f***ing words."

"You think you can get away with saying that s*** to me over the Internet? Think again, f***er.”

Further in the long, aggressive, and harmful message, Trump allegedly makes serious threats of violence, reiterates the claims of having combat training and access to military resources, and tries to scare with exaggerated claims of power and ability.

Fact Check: Fake, claim originated as a satire

The screenshot, however, is fake, as Trump never made such a post. A search of his official social media account for the text shown in the screenshot yielded no results.

A search of the X account that automatically archives the president’s Truth Social posts also did not yield any results matching the words in the screenshot.

Further checks on credible news platforms and official communication channels also reveal no evidence that Trump made the quoted remarks.

The image description under the post even describes it as a ‘satire.’

Donald Trump signals ceasefire doubts as Iran rejects proposal

The fabricated screenshot emerged as Trump described a proposed 45-day ceasefire with Iran as a “significant step,” but said it falls short of what is needed to end the conflict.

Trump insisted on Monday, April 6, that he alone would determine whether a ceasefire is acceptable, underscoring Washington’s hardline stance as hostilities continue.

Iran has turned down the proposal, arguing that any temporary halt in fighting would give adversaries time to regroup and prepare for further conflict.
