PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: A video of President Donald Trump has gone viral, appearing to show him speaking with reporters at Palm Beach Airport, where he allegedly issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Iran. In the clip, he is said to warn of possible US airstrikes if demands are not met, further fueling speculation amid already heightened tensions.

The claim comes as reports circulate about Iranian missile and drone activity targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz during a fragile ceasefire. However, questions have been raised about the authenticity of the video and the statements attributed to him. Here’s a fact check of the claim and the footage.

Claim: Trump issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Iran and warned of 'devastating air strikes'

On May 4, 2026, X (formerly Twitter) user @GBX_Press shared a one-minute-three-second video of Donald Trump, which allegedly shows him issuing a 24-hour ultimatum to Iran and warning of possible US airstrikes if his demands are not met, with the caption, “JUST IN: Donald Trump: ‘Iran has been given only 24 hours. After that, the world may witness one of the most devastating air strikes ever seen.’”

At the time of writing, the post has gained significant traction, with over 1.6 million views, 12,000 likes, and 2,400 comments. The clip has sparked mixed reactions among users, with some believing the statement is genuine and engaging in debate about its implications.

One commenter wrote, “Let me guess, Iran has said they would accept the deal in private, but you want to show strength to your desperate fanbase so this is what you say in public?” Another said, “Oh goodness! Donald is being Donald again. Someone stop him!!!!”

However, not all users accepted the claim. One user dismissed it as misinformation, stating, “He never said that in that video clip, which is from yesterday or the day before. Stop the misinformation!”

Fact Check: Claim of Trump issuing an ultimatum to Iran is false

However, as several commenters questioned the authenticity of the video and its caption, it has become clear that Donald Trump did not issue any such warning to Iran in the circulating clip. Notably, the video’s caption does not match the actual content of the footage.

In the video being shared, Trump is seen speaking on a different topic. He said, “Well, I wouldn't have to. I didn't say that I said that if we left right now, it would take them 20 years to rebuild. But we're not leaving right now. We're going to do it, so nobody has to go back in two years or five years.”

He continued, “They told me about the concept of the deal. They're going to give me the exact wording now. Yeah. Of Iran's missiles. Making capabilities has been eliminated correct. Is that other 15 important for the United States needs to eliminate that? Well, I'd like to eliminate it. Yeah, I'd like to. It'll be a start for them to build up again.”

“And yeah, I would like to eliminate it. You start military strikes. Well, I don't want to say that. I mean, I can't tell that to a reporter if they misbehave if they do something bad. But right now. We'll say, but you know, it’s a possibility that could happen certainly,” he added/

Therefore, the widely circulated quote attributed to Trump, “Iran has been given only 24 hours. After that, the world may witness one of the most devastating air strikes ever seen,” — is not verified by any official or credible source. There is no transcript, press briefing, or confirmed video from the White House, Truth Social, or major media outlets supporting this statement.

While Trump has previously made strong remarks regarding Iran and military action, verified reporting indicates that viral quotes of this nature are often misattributed, exaggerated, or taken out of context rather than being accurate direct statements.
