Fact Check: Did Trump say children would have been 'transgendered' if he hadn't stopped Iran?
WASHINGTON, DC: Amid the pressure and criticism against the Trump administration over the war with Iran, a rumor began circulating on social media platforms claiming that President Donald Trump said: "your children would have been transgendered if I hadn't stopped the Middle Eastern country". The claim has sparked speculation and called for a fact-check.
Claim: Donald Trump said your children would have been 'transgendered'

According to a viral X post, Trump said, “If I hadn’t stopped Iran, your children would have been transgendered by now.”
The post has garnered tens of thousands of views, drawing conflicting reactions online, with many criticizing and mocking Trump for the remark. Some believe the claim is an authentic statement by the president.
Meanwhile, a few others remain skeptical and question whether Trump actually made the remark and called for a fact-check into the rumor.
Fact Check: The claim originated as satire

However, the claim is rated as false, as there are reports of the president making such a remark, claiming that he had stopped Iran.
There are no official statements, press conferences, interviews, or social media posts from Trump making the viral remark.
If Trump had really made such a statement, it would not only go unreported by credible news media outlets, but would have even made headlines. A search on Google and Bing for the claim also yielded no relevant results.
Additionally, the claim was posted by an X user named Spencer Hakimian, who describes himself in the bio as the ‘craziest stories on the internet,’ indicating that his posts are likely intended as satire, made for the sake of engagement.
Donald Trump floats the idea of post-midterm strikes against Iran

The claim surfaced after Trump left the possibility of a fresh military offensive against Iran after the November midterms.
This surfaced in a conversation with reporters on Tuesday, when Trump was asked directly about the possibility of US strikes after the elections, during which, rather than confirm or dismiss the possibility, he replied, “I can't tell you that, but anything's possible.”
Later on Wednesday, Trump confirmed that Vice President JD Vance had contacted senior Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei as they explored a possible path back to peace negotiations.
According to reports, the outreach involved a letter proposing a framework for talks, although its precise timing and contents remained unclear.
“He asked me what I thought, and I said if you want to do that that’s ok,” Trump told reporters when asked if he directed Vance to talk to Iran.
