Fact Check: Did Trump say God showed him a vision of 'Armageddon and a golden throne'?
WASHINGTON, DC: According to a viral claim circulating on social media platforms, President Donald Trump, in an online post, has claimed that he has spoken to God, who gave him a vision of Armageddon and a golden throne. The claim drew conflicting reactions from online users, with many believing the post is real while others called it fake, requiring a fact-check.
Claim: Donald Trump claimed God gave him a vision of Armageddon
The claim surfaced as a screenshot and claimed to show a post by Trump on his official Truth Social handle.
The purported post read, “I HAVE SPOKEN TO GOD AND HE HAS GIVEN ME A VISION OF AN OCEAN FILLED WITH BLOOD A CITY OF DUST A GOLDEN THRONE FOR ME TO SIT ON, ETERNALLY!!!, TONIGHT IS ARMAGEDDON, THE FINAL JUDGEMENT OF GOOD AND EVIL!!!!"
"LOCK YOUR DOORS AND DO NOT DIRECTLY AT THE FLASH!!!! GOD BLESS US ALL!!! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
The screenshot has spread across multiple platforms, garnering millions of views, with many believing it to be authentic, while others are skeptical.
Fact Check: Donald Trump made no such post
The screenshot, however, is fake and fabricated, as no such post appears on any of the president’s official social media accounts.
A search on Trump’s Truth Social account, as well as on the commentary account on X that automatically archives all his social media posts, yielded no results that match the text in the screenshot.
An additional search on Google to check whether he has made such a post and then deleted it yielded no credible results, which, if true, would have been widely covered by prominent news media outlets and made headlines.
Donald Trump's previous statements about God
The fake post resembles Trump’s previous statements about God. Earlier this year, Trump said, “I think God is very proud of the job I’ve done,” when a reporter asked if he felt God was proud of his hard work.
In April, amid the conflict with Iran, Trump was asked by a reporter, “Do you believe God supports the United States’ actions in this war?” To which he replied, “I do, because God is good. God is good, and God wants to see people taken care of.”
In June, Trump triggered a row by sharing controversial AI images allegedly depicting him as Jesus Christ, where he was seen clad in a robe and healing a sick man while an American eagle flew overhead and a nurse looked on.
