Fact Check: Did Trump share post calling 'Antichrist' a Democratic hoax
WASHINGTON, DC: A screenshot has been circulating on social media platforms, claiming to show a post by President Donald Trump stating that ‘Antichrist’ is a new Democrat hoax, accompanied by a picture that appears to show disfigured Jesus, sparking questions about the authenticity of the post. Let us analyse and fact-check whether Trump posted it.
Claim: Donald Trump posted a picture of 'Antichrist'
The claim surfaced in the form of a screenshot showing a post by Trump on his official Truth Social account. The post includes a picture appearing to show a disfigured Jesus Christ with an inlay text stating, “The Antichrist NEEDS YOU. WHOLE CIVILIZATION WILL DIE, NEVER TO BE BROUGHT BACK AGAIN!”
The picture was accompanied by a caption saying, “ANTICHRIST is the new DEMOCRAT HOAX. But that's fine, if you want an antichrist I can give you an antichrist. I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO DEFEAT MY ENEMIES. Thanks for your attention to this matter.”
Fact Check: Donald Trump did not share a post about 'Antichrist'
However, a search on the president's official Truth Social account for the keywords as in the alleged screenshot yielded no results.
A search on Trump’s commentary account on X, which archives his Truth Social posts, also did not yield any results that match the text in the screenshot.
A reverse image search for the image reveals that the screenshot was first posted by an X account, accompanied by a caption stating, “If we didn't tell you this was satire, you wouldn't know it was satire. Such are the times we live.” Hence, the claim originated as a satire.
A fact check by Grok confirmed this, saying, “No, that's not a real Trump post. It's satirical imagery designed to look like one—Trump has never posted anything like that. The original account even labeled it satire.”
Tucker Carlson suggests Trump is 'Antichrist'
The fabricated screenshot likely stems from the conflict with Iran, the ongoing feud with Pope Leo XIV, and a series of controversial AI-generated images that depicted the president alongside Jesus.
In response to these posts, former Trump ally Tucker Carlson accused Trump of “mocking” Christianity and suggested that Trump could be the ‘antichrist.’
Carlson said he believed Trump fit the scriptural description of a figure who would “oppose and exalt himself over everything that is worshipped.”
“It’s Donald Trump, president of the United States, dressed as Jesus, healing a man. You can see the healing power coming off of his right hand.”
