WASHINGTON, DC: A viral claim circulating online suggests that Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized President Donald Trump, allegedly saying he embodies the spirit of the 'Antichrist', following a recent social media post. The speculation stems from a post on Truth Social in which Trump shared an AI-generated image portraying himself in a Christ-like depiction. The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, raising questions about what Greene actually said and whether the viral claims are accurate.

Claim: MTG allegedly said Trump embodies the spirit of the 'Antichrist'

According to a viral claim from GeneralMCNews, it is being reported that Marjorie Taylor Greene said President Donald Trump “embodies the spirit of the Antichrist” following his social media post. The post has sparked widespread debate online, with reactions ranging from accusations of arrogance to dismissals of Greene’s remarks.

The controversy began after Trump shared an AI-generated image on Truth Social portraying himself in a Christ-like manner.

In the image, he is shown in flowing robes surrounded by divine light, with symbolic elements including supporters, angelic or soldier-like figures, fighter jets in the sky, fireworks, and the Statue of Liberty in the distance, emphasizing themes of strength and American identity. The post came shortly after Trump also criticized Pope Leo XIV, calling him “weak.”

Fact Check: MTG's claims about Trump are true

A viral claim that Marjorie Taylor Greene called President Donald Trump the 'Antichrist' has circulated widely online, and the claim is based on her actual public posts.

In statements shared on her social media accounts, Greene condemned an image posted by Trump on Orthodox Easter in which he appeared in a Christ-like, messianic pose healing the sick. She described the post as “more than blasphemy” and said it reflects an “Antichrist spirit.”

Greene also criticized Trump over his remarks directed at Pope Leo XIV, alleging opposition related to US policy on Iran.

In her posts, she said, "On Orthodox Easter, President Trump attacked the Pope because the Pope is rightly against Trump’s war in Iran and then he posted this picture of himself as if he is replacing Jesus."

She added, "This comes after last week’s post of his evil tirade on Easter and then threatening to kill an entire civilization. I completely denounce this and I’m praying against it!!!"

The remarks confirm a public rift between Greene and Trump, marking a notable shift from her earlier strong support, as she stated she is praying against these developments despite previously being one of his allies.
