WASHINGTON, DC: A rumor has been circulating on social media platforms claiming that President Donald Trump signed a White House report calling for the death of trans rights activists, sparking panic, criticism, and speculation among online users.

Let us analyze the origins of the viral claim and fact-check the authenticity of the alleged report.

Claim: Trump signed a report targeting trans rights activists

The claim surfaced through an image claiming to show part of a White House report signed by Trump, broadly targeting trans rights advocates for death.

The image appears to combine screenshots of two separate texts, displaying the words "pro-transgender" highlighted in yellow in one paragraph, followed by "We Will Find You and We Will Kill You" in the next.

The image includes anonymous, provocative commentary underneath Trump's signature, dated May 2026, stating, “This is official government policy. If the government hasn't said they will kill you well, I hope you never have to experience this.”

“How am I supposed to process this? How am I supposed to just be like but oh this cool show is coming out. How do I drive my car now knowing any vehicle could be the enforcement coming behind me? I honestly can't put into words how this feels.”

Netizens shared the image claiming that the government seeks to target and kill certain people, whether violent or not.

Fact Check: The report was edited out of context to spread misleading claim

The claim is a mixture of truth and misrepresentation: part of the composite image consists of genuine excerpts from an official White House report that were presented out of order, conveying misleading information.

The real part of the image came from the Trump administration's US Counterterrorism Strategy report, released in early May and hosted on the White House website.

The report specifies "three major types of groups," including "narco and transnational gangs," "legacy groups," and "violent left-wing extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists."

One section of the report described certain groups as “anti-American, radically pro-transgender and anarchist,” grouping “pro-transgender” ideology alongside violent gangs and groups.

However, the viral image misleadingly combined real text from two different pages to falsely make it appear as though this line was directly followed by the threat, “We Will Find You and We Will Kill You.”

The “We Will Find You and We Will Kill You” line does appear in the report, but several pages earlier in a section about cartels, gangs, and the Iran war. It was not directly linked to left-wing groups or transgender rights advocates.
