The rumor that Trump was applying glue to a gold decoration began after Lara Trump shared four family photos on August 9, 2026.
She captioned the post, “Last weekend of the summer,” and included photos of herself, Eric Trump, their two children, and Trump at what appeared to be a golf course event.
The photos showed the family spending time outdoors on a sunny day. One image featured Lara wearing a Trump Scotland cap, while another showed her hugging her smiling daughter.
Other photos showed the children with Trump and a hallway scene in which he appeared to be examining an object as Eric and Lara stood nearby.
The family post received thousands of likes and positive comments. However, one image also sparked jokes and speculation about what Trump was doing. Some users claimed he was using glue to attach gold decorations to the walls.

The claim is unconfirmed. The photo appears to show Donald Trump handling a gold-colored decoration, but it does not clearly establish what he was attaching, where he was installing it, or whether he was personally carrying out the decorating work.
