Fact Check: Does Lara Trump's post show Trump gluing gold decorations himself?
WASHINGTON, DC: A photo dump shared by Lara Trump has sparked online buzz after one image appeared to show President Donald Trump applying glue to what looked like a gold decoration.
The unusual scene quickly drew jokes and memes, with some users also commenting on executive assistant Natalie Harp’s presence nearby.
The photos also revived earlier reports about Trump’s hands-on approach to the White House’s gold-themed decor. But what was Trump actually doing in the photo? Here's a fact check.

The rumor that Trump was applying glue to a gold decoration began after Lara Trump shared four family photos on August 9, 2026.
She captioned the post, “Last weekend of the summer,” and included photos of herself, Eric Trump, their two children, and Trump at what appeared to be a golf course event.
The photos showed the family spending time outdoors on a sunny day. One image featured Lara wearing a Trump Scotland cap, while another showed her hugging her smiling daughter.
Other photos showed the children with Trump and a hallway scene in which he appeared to be examining an object as Eric and Lara stood nearby.
The family post received thousands of likes and positive comments. However, one image also sparked jokes and speculation about what Trump was doing. Some users claimed he was using glue to attach gold decorations to the walls.

One user joked that Trump had “got his superglue out again” and linked the scene to the White House renovation. Another commenter suggested that Trump was being kept busy by letting him glue gold-colored decorations to the walls.
This is how they keep him busy these days. He’s walking around gluing gold-painted plastic medallions to the walls.

Fact Check: Unconfirmed
The claim is unconfirmed. The photo appears to show Donald Trump handling a gold-colored decoration, but it does not clearly establish what he was attaching, where he was installing it, or whether he was personally carrying out the decorating work.

The online claims are based largely on interpretations of the image. Some users have suggested that Trump was “applying what appears to be Krazy Glue” to a “seal of the President.”
However, the photo itself does not clearly show a tube of Krazy Glue or any other labeled adhesive.
The object appears similar to the palm-sized gold presidential medallions that Lara has previously shown Trump installing around the White House. She has described him placing the medallions in several locations, including showers and the West Colonnade.
Trump’s hands are positioned around the object, making it appear as though he may be applying something to it. However, another possibility is that he was simply examining the medallion or using a small yellow marker or pen to sign or mark it.
The photo alone does not conclusively show that Trump was applying glue to the decoration. Therefore, based on the available evidence, the claim remains unconfirmed.
