Fact Check: Is the rap sheet claiming Renee Nicole Good’s criminal history real?

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Numerous claims began circulating online about the past of Renee Nicole Good, the woman who was shot dead by an ICE agent last week during an immigration crackdown in Minneapolis.

Amid widespread protests across the country, claims surfaced alleging that Good had a criminal past. Let us fact-check the claim.

Claim: Renee Nicole Good has a criminal history

As public support for Renee Nicole Good has grown, unverified claims have appeared online alleging that she had a criminal history. The alleged rap sheet was widely circulated on social media by unverified accounts.

One post claimed: “Parole violation, Child abuse, Interfering with medical treatment, Battery of a Police Officer,” while another said, “You idiots on the left really need to pick your martyrs better.”

Fact Check: False, the rap sheet is fake 

The rap sheet circulating online is not accurate, as the birth year noted on it is 1980, which would make the person 45 years old at present, whereas Renee Nicole Good was 37, according to various media outlets.

X’s AI assistant, Gork, has fact-checked the claim, terming the rap sheet as fake.

"This image appears to show records for a different Nicole Renee Good (DOB 1980, inconsistent age). The Renée Nicole Good, in recent news (age 37, from Colorado, killed by ICE on Jan 8, 2026), had no significant criminal history beyond a 2012 traffic ticket, per reports from the Denver Post and others."

"For an accurate rap sheet, check official Colorado records sites.” The version circulating on social media is an edited one.

Although the mug shot photo from the rap sheet resembles Good, it is unlikely that it belongs to her.

ICE operation escalates into a deadly encounter

The shooting occurred on January 7, amid a federal immigration enforcement surge targeting the Twin Cities area.

The operation involved a significant deployment of federal agents across Minneapolis and St Paul, marking one of the most aggressive crackdowns in the region in recent years.

Video footage of the incident quickly spread online, drawing scrutiny of the Department of Homeland Security’s account. DHS later described Good as a “domestic te**orist,” alleging that she attempted to weaponize her vehicle against law enforcement officers.

However, the available video evidence did not appear to support that characterization. In the footage, the vehicle appeared to be turning away from agents moments before shots were fired, contradicting official claims.

As investigations and public debate continue, officials have urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified or manipulated information, noting that such content can exacerbate tensions and distort understanding of ongoing cases.
