DHS officer caught on video kicking memorial candle for Renee Nicole Good after ICE shooting
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Public anger surrounding the fatal ICE shooting of Renee Nicole Good intensified this week after a video surfaced showing a Department of Homeland Security officer kicking a candle at a memorial set up in her honor. The footage, which spread rapidly across social media, added another volatile chapter to an incident already under federal investigation.
The confrontation occurred days after Good, a 37-year-old Minneapolis mother of three, was shot and killed during an immigration enforcement operation on January 7.

As captured in the footage, the officer kicks over one of the candles before approaching a nearby protester and ordering him to 'back up.' When the protester asked what the candle was for, the officer responded bluntly, “I don’t give a f---.”
It remains unclear exactly where the memorial was located or whether it was set up in Minnesota. However, the imagery and timing tied it closely to the Minneapolis shooting that has dominated national headlines.
Renee Nicole Good remembered as ‘kind’ and ‘compassionate’
Good was fatally shot while driving her SUV near ICE agents during a federal operation in Minneapolis. According to the Associated Press, she was a longtime Twin Cities resident and a mother of three.
Her mother, Donna Ganger, described her daughter as deeply caring and devoted to others.
“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” Ganger told The Minnesota Star Tribune. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
Friends and community members have since held vigils and memorials in her name, many of which have become focal points for protests against federal immigration enforcement tactics.
Conflicting accounts emerge over ICE shooting incident
A video from the shooting shows a masked federal agent firing multiple shots into Good’s SUV. The vehicle is then seen continuing down the street before crashing into another car.
DHS has claimed that Good 'weaponized her vehicle' and that the ICE agent fired in self-defense, asserting the officer feared for his life during the encounter.
Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism.…

Local officials have strongly disputed that narrative.
“They are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said during a press conference. “Having seen the video for myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bulls---. This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody getting killed.”
