WASHINGTON, DC: A video circulating on X has captured widespread attention, appearing to show dozens of US Army soldiers kneeling in prayer on an airfield tarmac, duffel bags at their sides and large transport planes in the background. The clip, set to Christian worship music, has quickly gone viral, with many viewers believing it depicts a real moment. But how authentic is this footage?

An unverified video shared on X by a user named Q-17ANON GLOBAL appears to show rows of soldiers kneeling in prayer. The 15-second clip was posted by an account that promotes patriotism and faith, urging viewers to pray for the protection of troops. It quickly spread across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, often reposted with nearly identical captions.

The video was accompanied by a caption that read, "Row of soldiers kneel in prayer on the runway before takeoff, packs at their feet and the mission ahead.... a moment most people never see. May God protect our troops, say AMEN!" Within hours of being shared, it had gained more than 61,000 views, drawing a wide range of reactions online.

While some viewers questioned the authenticity of the clip, others believed it to be real. One skeptical user commented, "This is AI fools. You think any one single unit in any US armed forces is all taking a knee to pray, you are living in your own fairytale."

Another wrote, "So basically you attack innocent people and think this is the message of Jesus??? My goodness"

Some users accepted the video as genuine, with one commenting, "We’re so thankful to God that our troops will be coming home to their families."

Fact Check: The video showing soldiers kneeling in prayer is fake

After a thorough review across multiple platforms, it can be concluded that the video claiming to show US soldiers kneeling in prayer is not authentic. The clip appears to be AI-generated, as it displays several telltale signs. The soldiers look unusually similar in build, posture, and haircuts, whereas real US Army personnel typically show greater diversity in appearance.

Several users online have also flagged these inconsistencies, identifying the video as likely fake. Additionally, the repeated sharing of the same clip with identical captions suggests it was created to drive engagement rather than document a real event.

This is not an isolated case; similar AI-generated videos depicting US soldiers praying have gone viral in the past. Notably, no credible news outlets, military public affairs releases, or official Department of Defense sources have verified or shared this footage.

While real moments of troops praying before deployment do occur and have been documented, this particular video lacks essential details such as a verifiable source, unit identification, location, or date. The original post on X also provides no authentic material to confirm its credibility. Therefore, the video is fake.
