WASHINGTON, DC: Amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East that have escalated following the death of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, an image has been circulating on social media platforms claiming to show President Donald Trump yelling at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Let us analyze the claim and fact-check the image.

Claim: Donald Trump yelled at Pete Hegseth over the death of military personnel

The image that surfaced amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict after the US and Israel struck Iran early on Saturday shows Trump yelling at Hegseth through a glass door.

The image that has spread across multiple social media platforms, such as X, Facebook, and Instagram, was depicted as an actual argument at a government meeting and has been spread with the claim that Trump was caught 'red-faced yelling' at Hegseth over military planning or the death of US military personnel.

The viral photo has garnered four million views along with thousands of likes and shares. While many believed the claim to be authentic, a few others dismissed it as fake.

Fact Check: False, photo is not related to ongoing conflict

However, there is no credible evidence to support the claim that such a moment actually occurred.

A search on Google for relevant keywords yielded no reports from prominent news media outlets about the president yelling at Hegseth.

A reverse image search of the photo led to a post on Reddit, posted in December 2025, suggesting that it is not related to the ongoing conflict.

A fact check by Grok stated that, “The Trump-Hegseth yelling photo & link is speculation, no confirmed tie.”
