FULTON COUNTY, GEORGIA: Fani Willis, who filed racketeering charges against Donald Trump for attempting to overturn the 2020 Georgia election results, faced criticism from his lawyers after she allegedly moved to dismiss his appeal to have her removed from the fraud case.

The 78-year-old Republican does not reportedly want Willis on his case after it was reported that she was romantically involved with now-fired special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

However, the 52-year-old attorney saw no justification for her removal from the case, noting that Wade is no longer in office. She also insisted that Trump's appeal be dismissed.

Steve Sadow criticizes Fani Willis' role and potential impact on the case

But on Thursday, June 20, the lawyer representing the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Steve Sadow, referred to Willis as a "District Attorney with deep conflicts," as reported by The New York Post.

He also pointed out that if the appeals court does not resolve Willis' removal from the case, it could “fatally infect all subsequent proceedings … all at great wasted time and expense to the courts, the parties, and the taxpayers.”

Furthermore, Sadow characterized Willis’ effort to disqualify Trump’s motion as "a calculated, disingenuous attempt to mislead this court," emphasizing that "the Georgia Court of Appeals granted us the right to appeal after due and proper consideration."

“The State’s ‘Hail Mary’ motion is an obvious attempt to stop the appellate review of DA Willis’ misconduct. We are optimistic that the Court will deny the motion and proceed to favorably decide the appeal on the merits,” he added.
