FULTON COUNTY, GEORGIA: Donald Trump’s prosecutor Fani Willis, who charged him with racketeering for trying to overturn the 2020 Georgia election results, has faced another setback as it was revealed her campaign got a donation from a convicted fraudster — a former Atlanta city attorney.

Shelitha Robertson illegally received a $15 million pandemic loan and spent it on buying a 10-carat diamond ring and a Rolls Royce. She also gave $1,000 to Willis’ Democratic primary election campaign, The New York Post reports.

Shelitha Robertson was awarded jail sentence on June 7

The Department of Justice said, “The loan applications falsely inflated the number of employees and average monthly payroll for each of the four businesses, resulting in larger PPP loans than Robertson would be legitimately entitled to obtain.”

But in her defense, she reportedly claimed in the court, “I’m dead broke. My business is gone. My (law) license is gone. My assets are gone. The only thing I have left is my family and my faith in God.”

Eventually on Friday, June 7, the 62-year-old was given seven years and three months behind bars after being found guilty in December last year.

Netizens dubbed Georgia's government ‘corrupt’

This came as scandals have continued to hit Willis, whose reported romantic relationship with another prosecutor Nathan Wade has obstructed Trump's election interference trial.

Meanwhile, Robertson’s connection with Willis has attracted some negative attention online with an X user saying, “Hmnnn birds if a feather perhaps?”

Another user wrote, “The plot thickens.”

A third user commented, “She's the very face of gentrified urban political corruption.”

A fourth one tweeted, “THESE PPL WHO HAVE PREACHED TO US ABOUT OUR MORALS AND LAWS AND JUSTICE ALL THE WHILE THEY HAVE BEEN BREAKING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM AND THE WHITE HOUSE HAS BEEN COVERING UP JOE BIDENS DECLINE AND BEING UNFIT.”

“All of Georgia's government is corrupt. Including the republican governor,” a fifth one stated.

“Birds of a feather....” a tweet read.

“Fani is getting her Fani into hot water,” another comment said.

An individual shared, “GA is just another garbage state. Hmmmm, I wonder who votes for ciminals like Willis? It's a rhetorical question.”

Besides, a reader wrote in The Post article, “Fanni Willis is herself a criminal. She should be removed from her prosecutor role for her actions.”

Another one noted, “Fani doesn't understand why people are concerned about ethics when she ‘ain't got none.’”

“Between Shelitha, (that's a name?), and Wade this Willis takes on the aura of crime  syndicate member,” another user added.
