Fans rally behind John Stamos as actor recreates 'Barbie' scene with wife to slam Oscars snub
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Following America Ferrara, John Stamos has reacted to the Academy snubbing 'Barbie's director, Greta Gerwig, and lead actress, Margot Robbie.
The 'General Hospital' star, 60, and his wife, Caitlin McHugh, recreated a scene from 'Barbie' to show their support for the film.
Despite the film's nomination for Best Picture, the absence of Gerwig in the Best Director category and Robbie in the Best Actress category sparked a wave of indignation online.
The Associated Press described Gerwig's absence from the Best Director category as "one of the biggest shocks in recent memory."

On Instagram, Stamos wrote, "This one goes out to Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie who crafted a film that was both a critical success and a cultural phenomenon, delving into feminist themes through the lens of Barbie and challenging patriarchal norms."
He added, "This movie not only resonated deeply, but also grossed OVER a billion dollars. Yet, in a twist of irony, both women were snubbed by the Academy. Everyone go re-watch Barbie tonight."
In the attached clip, Stamos and his wife, McHugh, were seen reenacting a scene from the 2023 movie.
While McHugh took on Robbie’s role as Barbie, Stamos stepped into the shoes of Ken, originally played by Ryan Gosling. The video features dialogue from a scene where Barbie requests Ken to keep a low profile during their trip to the real world.
In the recreated version, Stamos' wife is seen tending to their garden while the actor leisurely spends his time in their backyard.
Ferrara expressed her dissatisfaction over the Academy's seeming oversight of the commendable work done by Robbie and Gerwig.
Gosling, who is a nominee for Best Supporting Actor, also voiced his disappointment that the two icons were not nominated for Best Director and Best Actress.
