'Barbie' fans disappointed as film fails to make it to Oscars shortlist for Best Makeup and Hairstyling
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Internet was left bewildered as the Warner Bros blockbuster of the year, 'Barbie,' failed to secure a spot on the shortlist for the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category at the 2024 Oscars.
Despite this setback, 'Barbie' enthusiasts were thrilled to know that three songs from the movie made it to the Oscar shortlist for Best Original Song, as officially announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

According to Deadline, 'Barbie' has garnered attention with five shortlist mentions, including Original Score, Sound, and three for Original Song. However, to the surprise of many social media users, the film did not make the cut for the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category.
Notably, the shortlist for Makeup and Hairstyling includes 'Beau Is Afraid', 'Ferrari', 'Golda', 'Killers of the Flower Moon', 'The Last Voyage of the Demeter', 'Maestro', 'Napoleon', 'Oppenheimer', 'Poor Things', and 'Society of the Snow'.
